Absolutely wonderful stay!!!! 10/10 would go back in a heartbeat. The breakfast was incredible, the building was beautiful, and best of all, Jim and Jeff are incredibly welcoming. You really feel a sense of community when you stay. At breakfast everyone shares what they were up to the previous night if they are up to it, but it's not an awkward "go around the classroom and talk your weekend" vibe at all. It's very chill and relaxed (plus no pressure to talk if you don't want to). The owners are happy to give recommendations for local places/events as well. If you need literally anything they are on it. ||Something that really eased my anxiety was you could leave your bags in the parlor before check-in or after check out so you didn't have to carry everything around before/after your ferry. I had a lot of stuff with me and did NOT want to worry about it while I explored the town. Jeff and Jim also send multiple confirmations with relevant information stated clearly and politely. It was a huge weight off my shoulders to not have to worry if I secretly misremembered the information because I could just check my phone and see what was up.||I traveled alone and felt completely safe and welcome when I stayed. Everything is convenient as well, since the building is a really short walk into the downtown (seriously it's just down the street from the Pilgrim memorial elevator). I could easily walk to the hotel from the ferry even with all my luggage. ||The only real con isn't a con to me personally, which is why my review is still 5 stars, but I'm aware it might be a deal breaker for some people. I am very familiar with old houses so knew going in some of the spaces would be a little tight. I'm thin enough that I could squeeze into and around the spaces so it wasn't an issue for me but I do realize that isn't the case for everyone. My room probably had the most squeezing required since I believe it used to be the attic (there was another set of stairs for me and I won't lie, they were a little death defying but not the worst I've seen. Like I said, I'm very familiar with old houses). From my understanding, the other rooms don't have this issue. ||This isn't a problem for me because I can do the necessary maneuvering but if you can't or don't want to then I would recommend booking a room on the first or...
Read moreA truly magical place that redefines what “hospitality” should mean. In an era of creeping shrinkflation and aloofness in the hotel industry, this felt like a true oasis, a harkening to a simpler time. After our second time here, I don’t think we or our friends would consider any alternatives in Provincetown.
Their renovation has gone a long way: the rooms are so tasteful and cozy with many lovely details, including the claw tub and fireplace in our room which we loved.
You could not want for any amenities: a tactfully placed coffee station, an in-room fridge, a fun hot tub, and most importantly their delicious homemade breakfast all make the weekend so much better.
And of course Jeff and Jim themselves are the true linchpins of the experience; they are so warm and friendly and focused on getting to know their guests while also providing great recommendations. They have partnerships with many Cape businesses that result in benefits to their customers, e.g. discounted bike rentals and ferry tickets.
Thanks for a great stay and see you...
Read moreHad a terrific experience at The Gaslamp B&B! Would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking to stay a little (but still really close) off the hustle of Commercial Street. Jeff and Jim are wonderful hosts and make everyone feel right at home. Delicious breakfasts are included daily and served out on the private deck if weather permits. A cute parlor with grand piano served as an evening gathering place for our small group (we took 3 rooms altogether). A couple of evenings the hosts generously surprised us with a charcuterie board with wine. Also, there is a private hot tub on the deck is kept at a perfect temp! I really can't say enough great things about our experience here. Jim and Jeff made the difference in being hosts that went the little extra to make us all feel welcome...
