The proprietor, Chris is a real gem. He bent over backwards to be accommodating and is a really sweet fellow. The house itself is what I would refer to as 'old school Provincetown'. This is like a home from home, especially if you are an animal lover - there are two dogs and a parrot that also live in the house but they are quiet and well behaved. This is not a pristine, sanitized, corporately inspired place - it is a lovingly cared for B&B which will be immediately familiar to those guests who have been coming to Ptown for over 20 years or so and remember how it was in the 80s and 90s. It is also very central and has parking. Don't get me wrong - I love fancy hotels with all the mod cons, but this is supposed to be a beach resort town and the Chicago House epitomizes everything that I used to love about Ptown in...

I feel like clarifying the negative reviews on here as old and invalid since the BNB is under new ownership. The owners are very helpful, available, and willing to help. I had purchased some new clothing that I wanted to wash before I wore them. I asked if he knew any place I could wash them since I knew a clothes washer was not part of the amenities. He offered to wash the two items in their washers for me. The next morning I had my clothes ready. I would book this location again when visiting town. It is an older place but so is everything here. The options are limited and Chicago House I the best options...
Read moreThe Chicago House is in the perfect location--practically in the center of town but on a side street so you're away from the heavy traffic of Bradford and Commercial Streets. The rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable. The front and back porches are great for relaxing, reading, or chatting with old and new friends. Breakfast stays out all morning and is a bit more than you typically get at a B&B. Chris is a fantastic host--charming, personable, and professional. He made me feel like I was a guest in his home and not just a customer. Also the wifi was free and worked great. I'm planning to stay there...
