Update: the owner rectified the issue immediately and were extremely apologetic about the whole thing. I understand it is a business but it was less about the $$ exchange and more about the communication and, as a medical patient and not recreational user, that I can go into a dispensary feeling it is more about the care provided than it is about profits (though of course money is still a factor until the day insurance picks up the cost of the rX). Thankfully, they rectified things!
I went in to the store (which has a limited selection of cartridges and edibles compared to other shops nearby btw), and still spent $500 on my first visit to support a local store over a larger brand like Curaleaf (for which, I might add, they did not provide a free gift as is the case with 99% of other dispensaries - not even a tote, new customer/disability/vet discount, or a pre-roll, etc. to ensure customer satisfaction worth a repeat visit).
I purchased two of one item by mistake and returned the next day to exchange one. It is an in-store only brand item and they could have easily checked to make the sure the security seals and packing were unopened. Instead, they outright refused to even look and said it’s state law that they can’t do such. OK fine - but given this is the case, they should A) not assume everyone is from in state and knows these laws B) they should visibly post the no return/no exchange policy clearly at the registers (this would be especially helpful for those unsure of trying a particular product, just to know it can’t be returned once you leave even if unopened).
Side note, their line of mood tablets are very smart marketing, but they are a lower 1:1 ratio at 5mg (instead of the 10mg often found). For those with chronic issues to address, would recommend to use in tandem with other products in instances where you want to achieve an ensemble effect for peak efficacy while having a more controlled outcome (ie - the Midnight tabs with a strong Indica Live rosin). Also, as every patient’s bio-chemistry is different and reacts differently to cannabinoids of different strains - my partner is allergic to most sativas for example - asking something like this of the patient before promoting the “Bliss” tablets would be helpful as well as the breakdown of strains is not on...
Read moreOnly bad review I've ever left for a Dispensary, been to 4 others this week alone while visiting and haven't had a single issue... But, this was disappointing - from the cust-service to the products. The woman working the door was great, only good thing about this visit.
We get inside, I ask for info on a particular strain (wanted to know Cannabinoid %s, specifically the CBN %). The young woman working says "It just says THC, so there's nothing else in it or it would have to say"... Prob not good to say, as certain people can have adverse reactions to certain cannabinoids and there are of course others in the strain. I google it and look it up myself.
Then, I find 1 cart discounted less than others. It's labeled "Terp Cart'" on the menu (all others say Dissilate or live resin). I ask the same worker what "Terp Cart'" means (thinking maybe it's CBD or Delta with extra Terps). She says she has no idea. I ask the other worker but she also doesn't know. I ask if they can speak to someone else and find out. They go into the back but don't ask about why it's called a "Terp Cart", only why it's discounted. They say something about being the last of that strain, etc etc.
Later, I open up the "Terp Cart'" and see the oil is DARK black and it expires in 8 days (will try to incl pic next to a new cart), also tastes REALLY bad. Would have never bought if I knew it was sitting on the shelf for a year and expiring in 8 days. Had enough in my budget for 1 indica tank and it was a total waste, so disappointed. Bad experience all around, from service...
Read moreOf the dispensaries in Ptown this was my favorite. It is a bit down Commercial Street, if you are staying on the east side of town like we were. They were very friendly at the entrance and they bring you inside. There are touchscreen kiosks inside where you can sort and scroll, which was cool. Then you put in your phone number and your name and place your order. The first time we came in I thought they'd call you by name. That did not happen. I waited patiently and approached one of the stations and gave them my name and my order was ready, verified and bagged. Oh, they told me cash or debit ONLY. There is a fee for debit, on top of the ridiculous amount of taxes.
They gave me a card with a QR code which I later scanned and noticed it brought me to a page where it stated, cash, debit and CREDIT.
I came back a second time to purchase before we came back to NY. I placed my order and before I cashed out I told the clerk about the CREDIT option the QR code brought me to, which totally contradicted what I was told a few days earlier. She was very nice...but her reply was; Oh...yeah, well we can take credit but some banks won't allow the charge to go thru. HUH?? The messaging is confusing.
So to the owner, what is the deal? Is your business in fact cash and debit only? Or are you pushing people to not use credit because you pay a higher processing fee? It left a bad taste...
