my boyfriend and i tried to go in there and we went in with the same tank top on JUST to go to the bathroom. he said that was fine as long as they charge us $10 dollars and show our ID’s which we had no problem doing. he says my boyfriend cant go because he has a tank top on. but i had the same EXACT tank top on. the minute i say “so because my partner is a man he cant wear what im wearing?” so now he tells us we cannot go in and acts extremely disrespectful about how we have been mean to him apparently. while i have been to MANY chicago vip clubs and have NEVER been treated like this. Disgraceful Experience at Carl’s Bar We were a group of veterans just trying to enjoy a night out, and instead we were met with blatant racism and outright disrespect from the older man who was both bartending and managing. His attitude was disgusting — rude, condescending, and completely out of line. As people who’ve served this country, we deserve basic respect, but this man treated us like we didn’t belong.
