This place became my husband and mine's go to place when our other local spot went downhill. The tacos were fantastic, they were so overfilled they would have to lay them down sideways on your plate. The tortillas were big, two tacos was plenty to eat and for an extra $2 bucks with change you could make it a meal deal with some fire beans and rice. MAN this place gave every other mexican joint in the neighborhood a run for their money. They could not be beat......but like all good things it apparently has come to an end.
Yesterday was so bad not only do I wish I had gotten a refund, I wish I could paid for pain and suffering. The chips we got for chips and salsa were cold, soggy and tasted of old lard. I am normally not one to ever send anything back but I know eating any more of those chips would have led to a long night on the toilet. Luckily the second batch was actually warmed and had been salted and were not chewy.
To our surprise the tacos were small, my steak tacos had chewy grisly pieces and the rice was hard and dried out. It also did not last long hot which to me was a pretty big indication it had been nuked.
We had ordered cebollitas (grilled knob onions) and I am pretty confident that Alien busting out of someone's chest looks less gruesome then those onions did. I am not sure how one could make onions so dried out that the outer layers are ruptured and the inside is still dry?
Not sure if this restaurant is familiar with Kitchen Nightmares but maybe they should request the help of Gordon Ramsey and retire Chef Mic (microwave) before they let their quality slide any further into...
Read moreShameful. It seems from prior reviews, that most of the negative reviews (cost, masks not properly worn) hasn’t changed, and that that have yet to “properly train” employees or have yet to “ensure follow up.” Which is sad, I used to love coming here, now I’ll take my business to a professional establishment where the service, price and friendliness shine.
I’ll start with cost. You raised prices because of the pandemic. Okay, I can find some understanding. But to charge $3.50 for a taco that was cheaper and bigger before, is not okay. By standard size my taco was considered “baby” and when I questioned the price and size, she said it was normal. It was not the normal before and is definitely smaller now than it was prior to March 2020. I’ve yet to go to another restaurant where prices have actually gone up.
The service was sub par, we had to get up to ask for the rest of our food because the employees were very busy talking and laughing.
The taste has changed as well, steak is not nearly as flavorful, and the guacamole was not nearly as fresh.
I’m very disappointed, I was really looking forward to coming back here on the regular . It’s not worth the 40 minute drive at all now.
As a customer questioning in store while dining in the price and changes made, employees shouldn’t be trying push down my throat, taco sizes. I know what a street taco looks like, I know what a normal size taco looks like. If mine was a regular size taco, I’m afraid the baby tacos are about the size of a quarter. It wasn’t price at that point because I’m more then willing to pay fairly, it was about customer service and listening to concerns, and...
Read moreBad service. I went here with my family to enjoy a nice dinner. My husband ordered a beer and he noticed that on the first taste it had a burnt taste & a diff smell. I went ahead and tried it as well and I also noticed the burnt taste and skunk smell. I kindly called the waitress over to inform her and ask if we could please get the beer replaced for a new one of the same kind due to the reasons above. The waitress went back to speak to who I assume is her mother because she said "mom". When the waitress came back she shared that she could not give us a new beer because they were not expired and had just received their inventory that day or day before. We explained that we were not making it up and were just asking for a new beer as the one my husband ordered had a burnt taste. We were denied and were left with the option of just dealing with it. My husband then had to order a whole other beer (different brand) and paid for the beer that he did not drink that not only had a bad taste and smell. It is really unfortunately that we had a bad experience over something so simple to correct. We've been here a few times and never had an issue til now. The chances of us returning...
