El Ancla Mariscos — Restaurant in Proviso Township

I would like to give it 5 stars but it would be unfair. Had dinner with some friends we were party of 4 and the place was empty. The drinks were great but only some of them were very well prepared. I recommend the margarita tower. Those were on point and very tasty. I had the tampiqueña plate and it was delicious. My wife had the langostinos plate, they were good but they were over cooked. Yet they had good flavor. I can see myself going again and trying other items in their menu. The service was very attentive and before leaving the owner sent over 4 tamarindo shots before leaving. That was a nice touch. They need to work on their cantaritos it tasted water down and needed more squirt, their pepinazo drink lacked...

I enjoyed eating at this place. We ordered the fried calamari. It was great we loved the sauce they come with. We also ordered langostinos. My wife loved the sauce flavor. It was a big portion since it includes rice, fries and salad. We also tried breaded shrimp and quesadillas for my son. They have big portions. We tried a cazuela mix. It was reay good. The prices were fair for the amount of food we got. I have to mention that the manager and all personnel were great. He came to talk to us about three times. He was making recomendations for my son and us. What I liked was that he was treating as if he knew us and was our friend. ...

First of all, the food is good but the lack of communication is horrible, to be added gratuity tip for a table of two is insane and in top of that my husband ordered toritos without alcohol and still got charged full price, if that was the case I would have took the alcohol for me but the waitress Giovanna G failed to inform us. At the end of the night it was an unpleasant feeling that she had to add tip when we were gonna give her more. Am filing a complaint with the restaurant since I felt disrespected in that way. We will never go back thanks...
