We went there 2 days after going to the one in American Fork, we couldn't wait to get another one. We live in Orem and decided to try the Provo one. How different could the same company be? The answer is this... INCREDIBLY different. My family of 6 were the only ones there. After getting 3 of our cones other customers showed up. They stopped making our cones to help the new customers...Strange but I figured it would be worth it. Boy, was I wrong? I ordered the longboard snow capped. The middle did not have flavor. I went up to ask about getting more flavor. They told me long boards are really hard to get flavor throughout. I took it back to enjoy it with flavor this time. To discover the snowcap was not really there. I asked for more. They said for a longboard to get the flavor of snowcap you have to order double (and pay even more). Hokulia is by far the best tasting and best quality shaved ice I’ve had in the area, hence the 3 stars, but my last experience was quite disappointing. We arrived 10 minutes to closing, which can be understandably frustrating in the food service industry, but figured a snow cone would be speedy enough to make to not interfere with closing time. When we went to the window the employee was actively making a shaved ice. She handed it to the customer it belonged to and proceeded to look at us, two paying customers waiting to order, and state that she had just finished a large group and was closing. We politely asked if there was any way she could still serve us and she responded with a resounding NO. We walked back to our car and drove away at 9:52 where we saw the cover to the shack had been closed with throngs of people still outside enjoying...

So I am pretty late in the season to post a review but it’s all for the best!!! All summer long my sister and I wanted shaved ice frequently. And this is the BEST place anywhere!!! Their flavors taste amazing and they have an astounding selection of flavors as well. The wait is long occasionally but it is well worth it! My favorite and go to flavor is Blue Hawaii with coconut ice cream! Oh my, I crave it! I’ve been going to Hokulia’s for a few years now, but I just moved to Provo in May. Every summer visit to Provo our family HAD to stop here! But now that I live here I can enjoy the BEST shaved ice around whenever I feel like it in the summer.
