Recommended by another Foodie friend, I took my wife to Thai Papaya Cuisine. We arrived at peak 7:00 on Friday night. The place was full with nobody but us waiting for a table and 1 table being cleaned up. I think someone should have shown us to a table and brought us menus, but under the busy circumstances it was a little awkward for us for the first time visit. Now, as we looked over the menu, my favorite "Kua Kai Rice Noodles" wasn't available but they have an otherwise full menu and some specials. We ordered the BBQ skewer sampler appetizer, Massaman Chicken Curry and Combo Pad Thai (pork, chicken & beef) and a fountain Diet Coke. The BBQ and Curry came out in 10 minutes, the diet Coke requested and then received 10 minutes later, and the Pad Thai took longer at 20 minutes after that (after a gentle reminder). The food is very good. The BBQ Skewers are served with a spicy pepper seed sauce that goes well with the shrimp and beef. I asked for and received an additional side of peanut sauce for the chicken that was a much better complimenting sauce. The highlight for us was the saucey noodles of the combo Pad Thai dish. Very flavorful. I used some of the BBQ pepper seed sauce to add a little more kick to a couple bites of the noodles that I also enjoyed. I really enjoyed the food. For me, due to service slips I think I'd prefer to order take out from here in the future. Current lunch special menu photo added.

Dinner with #Mum and #Husband at #ThaiPapaya first time at this very well reviewed #Provo #thaiRestaurant beverages: #CoconutSmoothie #MangoSmoothie they were closer in consistency to an Icee and were tasty. A lovely #JasmineTea which was a nice counter point to the #coconutIceCream and #FriedBanana dessert. the fried banana had a nice sweet and spicy batter that it was fried in. Appetizers: #FreshSpringRolls I loved the use of romaine lettuce and kept the open ended rolls. #ChickenSatay with lovely peanut sauce. Entrees: Mum had a nice #BeefAndBroccoli with a side of #Noodles instead of rice. My husband and I shared a lovely spicy #PineAppleChickenCurry and a new dish to us #KaoSoi which is noodles drowning in a curry sauce with chicken. It comes with a bone in #ChickenLeg which added great flavor and something yummy to chew on and crispy noodles. The food was great and We all agreed we’d go again. Great Thai Food that is close by.

Just finished eating at Thai papaya. Overall, very happy with the quick simple dinner. I got the curry shrimp based on the waitresses suggestion at a three spice level. Came with a decent sized bowl of rice and quite a few large shrimp flavor is great shrimp were delicious. This is maybe a fairly Thai dish and might not be for everyone, but I loved it. Tails on the shrimp lightly breaded with onions, strong curry, taste, and eggs cooked into the sauce. I didn’t really taste much spice so if you want spice, maybe do a four or five. The ambience is very relaxed, I was asked to pick any seat when I walked in, overall they’re trying to replicate the vibe of a chill Thai restaurant and they do it well for it being winter in Utah. Spoke with who I think is the owner/chef and she was very energetic and happy which is always a good sign.

The last time I left a review on here, you responded in anger. It felt like you were trying to get me to change my review. I had legitimate concerns about your staff, your menu and your food. I'm sure you do the best you can and I believe you when you say you work hard to keep your restaurant going. However, if you want people to leave good reviews and give you a good reputation, please consider responding to concerns with humility instead of a bad attitude. Your food is pretty good, but my perspective about other issues in your restaurant is just as valid as those who like your restaurant. You have a true Thai taste to your food, but your refusal to treat my opinion about other issues as valid is the reason why we will never be returning. Also, it's kind of immature and a little childish to "fight back" by leaving a bad review on my business, even though I've never provided any services to you at all.

Some people are just going to leave bad reviews, that's life. Some people simply aren't going to like your restaurant and that's not something you can control. You have so many good reviews on here I fail to see why you're so concerned about a few bad reviews. You've responded to every single bad review on here with the same bad attitude.

This is an opportunity for you! You can either learn from bad reviews and respond with humility and kindness or you can continue to have a bad attitude. If you continue to respond aggressively, it will push people away from you even more. Responding to criticism with anger and more criticism will only make things worse for you. I hope you choose the...

First the good news. The Green curry was delicious. One of the best flavours we have ever had. And now the rest. Service: TERRIBLE. We had to ask the waiter three times to bring us our rice order that we wanted with our soup appetizer. After 25 minutes of waiting and repeatedly asking, he literally tossed it on our table like we were bothering him. It took over 20 minutes to get our drinks. We asked for peanuts on the side as my wife is allergic to them. The Pad Thai showed up with peanuts on the plate instead of a side dish. When we tried to point this out, he avoided our table so she ate a little from the far side of the peanuts. After our main course was delivered, he never returned to ask how we were doing and never picked up the used appetizer dishes. He would just sit at the till and drink his Big Gulp and look around the room. Food: AWEFUL. The Pad Thai noodles were under cooked and barely edible. The Ton Ka Coconut soup was watery at best and without much flavour. The potatoes in the Green curry were under cooked and could not be mashed with a fork. The beef was like leather. The rice was under cooked and also quite difficult to eat. The Pad Thai had no flavour whatsoever. When we finished eating, we barely ate half of what we ordered and we didn’t take any home as it was simply not worth the effort of trying to get boxes from the waiter, because although he saw all the uneaten food, he didn’t offer any. We have eaten in DOZENS of Thai restaurants and this one easily...

This was honestly the most disgusting food I think I’ve ever had. Easily the worst in Provo. And incredibly expensive. $40 for two adults, and we left over half of the food just sitting there on the plate as we walked out. Really really nasty, no flavor, and I’m confused about all of these reviews. If you have experience with delicious Thai food or even any type of Asian food, you will be very much disappointed if you go here. I would just walk down a little bit and go to El Tio.

UPDATE: The owner has now responded and said that she hopes we don't come back with the "manner" we gave to them. I have no idea what this means, probably a language barrier. She probably thinks we are rude because we didn't tip. 60% of our food was left on the table, so why would we. Plus she stood over me staring at me as she requested a tip, which is ridiculous. We really did hate the food, so I don't take back what I said. But the response from the owner is further evidence, this is not the place for you to waste your money. We don't tip for niceness, we tip when for good service and good food, and this place had neither. The waitress didn't serve us well at all. Very, very, VERY bad place to eat. It was just not good in any way. No flavor, horrible service, rude waitress, and now a prideful response from the owner.

Again, El Tio is seconds away. I have never regretted them once. Plus insanely nice people work their and own it. Thai Papaya seemed angry we were even there. They really need to learn how to...
