Went and tried a new latin restaurant with some great friends. Tried their birria special plate, al pastor taco, and shrimp taco with some jamaica(hibiscus) drink. This plate is really good. As you can see the meat to tortilla ratio is incredible. Let's start with the birria because everyone has their way of doing this and you can never go wrong with birria. Beef that has been slow cooked is always good especially with a bit of consomé to go with it. I like that they served some of the fatty pieces of meat with the birria. It was flavorful and juicy. Add some onion, cilantro, lime, pickled onions, and hot sauce, this taco will leave your mouth watering for more. The al pastor tacos were really juicy and tender as well. Most places cook it from a spit-grill and you can the edges type cut and can get some dry pieces. Not sure how this place does it, but you get more juicy tender pork full of flavor. The shrimp tacos were delicious. I'm so glad they didn't over sauce it either because you get to actually taste the juicy seasoned shrimp. I hope this place can keep maintaining this standard because I will be coming back for more and often and with friends. #birria #birriatacos #shrimptacos #alpastor #thisishowichow #fyp...

We feasted on tacos.
I ordered four. Blackened Shrimp, Blackened Fish, Birria and a Mushroom Quesataco. I also ordered a side of chips and salsa for good measure.
All smiles and warm welcome, the service started and ended graciously.
While their blackened shrimp and fish tacos were fresh, the spicy mayo they used was a bit rich for my more citrusy leanings. The Birria was out of this world delicious. My wife ordered consomme and it was the umami drug I didn't know I craved.
The mushroom taco was eclectic and had strong vegetable flavor. I'm curious about the possibilities, but I'll need another chance to experiment at the Salsa Bar to unlock its true potential.
The chips were thick and nacho-worthy. The salsa that accompanied them was an addictive red melange that I quite enjoyed. Medium heat.
The verde salsa at the bar was vivid green and carried hints of mint.
Unique flavors! New experiences! Stuffed Churros that handle like hot caramel danishes.
I thoroughly enjoyed our meal and can easily recommend El Tio....
Read moreUpdate: Headed to watch our favorite girls soccer team and had to introduce our youngest to El Tio Tacos. He was skeptical walking in and a HUGE fan by the time we left! The salsas are all so good! This time we got the chicken burrito, two tacos, and the taquitos. They are all excellent and the prices can't be beat!!!
Stopped in on a double date for some tacos and fell in love with this place. We ordered three tacos, a burrito, a chicken quesadilla, chips & salsa and the mercado salad. The meat on everything was so tender and cooked to perfection! The salsa was a little spicy but it wasn't too hot. The salad had beautifully fresh veggies on it and it was topped with just enough dressing so you could still taste the veggies. The place was packed but the service was great and we got our food in a good amount of time. We'll definitely be back. And if you go I recommend the blackened shrimp tacos but everything we had was...
