We are travelling to Sedona and found Vegan Sun on Happy Cow! Provo was on our route so we dropped a pin and headed their way. The place is pleasant, you order at the desk, your food is brought to you, and you clear your own table — great! Just the fact that it’s a vegan restaurant and I can order anything makes me giddy as a school girl! But the menu! Oh, the options! We tried the potstickers - amazing (sauce is amazing, too!), spring roll sampler - quite good, sauce is great, udon sampler - quite good, and Mongolian noodle salad - good. Here’s the thing, there are a ton of vegan “meats,” but a lot of them are meh. The Mongolian beef was not great, but the rest of the salad was. I had a ton of meat types in my combo. Most weren’t very good. There was one that was fantastic, but, sadly, I couldn’t tell you what it was. Overall, the udon bowl was really good - lots of fresh, crunchy veggies, flavour was good. My advice, for anyone that cares to have it, focus on a couple proteins that you do exceptionally well, and that’s all you will likely need. I would rather more veggies in my bowls than meh faux meats. It deserves to be said that they are conscientious of gluten and nut allergies. They have a lot of gf options, which is wonderful! So nice to have a vegan- plant based restaurant prominently on Provo Center street! Vegan Sun is a great place to go whether you are on a date, hanging with friends, or having a large party. They are semi-casual. You walk up to the counter and order from their robust menu- they have noodle, rice, soup dishes along with banh Mi sandwiches and Pho soup! It is a fully vegan restaurant with meat substitutes. They will give you a number to place on your table and they will bring you your meal. They have self serve water and a variety of utensils- forks, spoons, reusable chopsticks and wood chop sticks. I felt that the service was very nice and speedy. My food was fresh and delicious.
