Worst experience ever. I found this location online and thought it would be a good idea to get some gyros. I was in the mood for some Greek cuisine being that I recently moved from New York. I’ve had many gyros in my old neighborhood of Astoria Queens the main Greek spot in NYC. So I drove up to this location and parked in front of the location. I went up to the door and realizing this is the COVID 19 era I wore my face mask. I notice the limited menu posted on the door for take out and I was ok with that understanding there is no seating due COVID 19.
I waited and a young man appeared from inside asking me what I wanted. I proceeded to give him my order which was 2 chicken gyros. He took my order ask me my name, and cellphone number. I then waited inside my car with my wife in front of the place. 30 minutes later realizing the wait was a bit long I asked The young man who took my order was my order being worked on. He proceeded to say they’re people who ordered ahead of you and I had to wait.
I understood the situation and waited patiently. 20 minutes later the young man reappeared and I asked him how much longer was the order going to be. I had waited 50 minutes in total. He said let me go check. 5 minutes later he reappeared with another employee and the other employee said oh you’re the guy with the chicken gyro. They’re working on it now. It will come out in a few.
10 minutes later realizing I had waited an hour. I said to myself how much longer does one have to wait for a takeout order. A additional 10 minutes went by and no one came out. I then decided to leave because I had a appointment with a real estate agent and had to go. So I decided to drive off and not get the food. This was due to a poorly run business. 13 minutes later I Get a call. Knowing the call was the restaurant I didn’t bother picking it up. Who waits approximately over an hour and 23 minutes for a takeout order and the restaurant does not inform the customer.
No decent restaurant runs a takeout delivery service so poorly. The staff should be professional enough to inform the customer from the beginning that there is a delay. Furthermore, If there’s a delay, the staff should be updating the customer on the progress of the take out. There’s no reason why the customer has to keep asking where’s my food. 1 hour and 10 minutes of actual waiting is a long wait. Had they told me from the beginning I would have ordered and come back at the appropriate time to pick up my food. This location may have good food but they’re definitely lacking in service. Straighten out the staff because that a very important part of...
Read moreI've delayed reviewing this place way too long. While we were staying in Luquillo we were told by many that Latin Gyros was an absolute must stop for food. I want to start by saying the atmosphere was nice and the service was fantastic. Also for those wondering the bathrooms were spotless. Now lets get to the food.
Risotto Croquettes - These were basically Italian Arancini balls served with tomato sauce. These things were amazing, I've had these from my Italian wife and had them in Italy and these were as good as any I've ever had.
Caesar Salad - This was a miss for me, my wife makes her own authentic Caesar dressing and what they gave me was far from a Caesar dressing. I wouldn't order this again.
Lamb Gyro - The lamb meat was cooked perfectly and the tzatziki sauce was great. The dish was huge and the fries were nice and crispy.
The Chicken Sandwich - Chicken was cooked nicely and as you can see the sandwich was loaded with cheese, my son destroyed it. The sauce it came with was also very good, but not spicy as the description says on the menu.
Skirt Steak Gyro - As the others the meat was cooked excellent and had tons of flavor. One of the best gyros I've ever had.
Tripleta Sandwich - I ordered this because it seemed to be a Puerto Rican specialty and I had not ordered one yet. I loved it and could totally see why the sandwich is so popular.
One thing not in any of the photos is a pickle hot sauce that was amazing. If you love pickles you have to try it.
I wish we would've eaten here more. This place is well known for their brunch. If we return to Puerto Rico we will be giving this place another visit. Kudos to the owner and staff of this excellent...
Read moreMy wife and I live in Luquillo. Today was the third time we ordered from Latin Gyros. The first 2 times the food was great. It's a little on the expensive side which is okay as long as it's good. Today it was not. I don't know if it was because they had 30 minutes to go before closing or what the problem was but it was definitely disappointing. On another occasion my wife ordered the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich and it was fabulous. Today it had maybe half the amount of steak and we didn't even notice the cheese. Big difference from the first one about a month ago. My wife ordered the Tripleta for the first time. It was nothing like any Tripleta I have had before. This was a greasy barbeque type of sandwich with thin strips of meat that you couldn't really tell what kind it was but totally not what we expected. The menu didn't help because the description for each type of sandwich said exactly the same thing. I am not going to recommend this...
