Tucked behind a dark but charming exterior, Coffee Therapy opens up into a bright, cool refuge from the Puerto Rican heat. Inside is home to thoughtful touches including a lovely rainforest memorial on the right wall, which makes it make it both cozy and memorable. Whether you’re starting your morning or escaping the midday heat, it’s a spot that invites you to slow down and enjoy.
I kicked things off with an Iced Caramel Latte that was generously sweetened with syrup yet balanced beautifully by the coffee’s bold flavor. No extra cream or sugar needed! It was spot on as served.
For breakfast, I ordered their Everything Bagel Sandwich, which comes with an egg omelette, your choice of cheddar or Swiss cheese, and protein options: ham, bacon, or turkey bacon. I went with cheddar and bacon, and honestly, it was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had…even compared to spots back in the States! The only “problem” was that it was piping hot from the grill! A central sauce station lets you customize your meal, and the staff is quick to clear tables, keeping the place tidy and welcoming.
What really set this cafe apart for me, though, was the service. During my visit, I accidentally left my purse behind, which was complete with all my travel cash, important documents, and wallet. In a moment of panic, I called, only to be told that Angely and Sarai had found it, but when I arrived they tucked my bag in the back with the staff bags. They even tried to refuse the tip I offered in gratitude. That kind of kindness is rare, and it made my entire day!!!
Coffee Therapy isn’t just a place for great coffee and food; it’s genuinely run by people who genuinely care. If you’re in San Juan, do yourself a favor and stop by! And if you see Angely or Sarai, let them know their kindness is still being...
Read moreAfter a string of disappointing food experiences in Puerto Rico, we finally stumbled upon this cozy little brunch spot that was a breath of fresh air. The place is small and intimate, but the friendly staff really makes up for it.
The food was good, not exceptional. I tried the avocado toast, but there wasn’t much avocado on it, which was a bit of a letdown. The BLT was reasonably tasty, and the grilled cheese was decent — but then again, it’s hard to go wrong with grilled cheese. The coffee, which seemed locally sourced, was a definite highlight and paired well with the meal.
Parking was easy to find on the street, which is a plus. However, the wait times can be long because the place is small and quite popular. If you’re patient, though, it’s worth sticking it out.
One downside was that the Wi-Fi network and password were listed, but the Wi-Fi wasn’t actually available. For a tourist-friendly spot, that’s a bit disappointing since many people don’t have reliable cell service to look up nearby attractions or directions.
The cinnamon muffin wasn’t great, but given the charming setting — almost like being within the rainforest — it’s hard to complain too much. Overall, this spot helped kick off our day on a positive note. It may not blow your mind, but you won’t leave...
Read moreCoffee Therapy is a hidden gem that I recently discovered with my family. We stopped by for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised by the cozy atmosphere and the delicious food.
The coffee was definitely the highlight of the morning. It was brewed to perfection and had a rich and bold flavor that really hit the spot. I tried the Cubano sandwich, which was amazing. The sandwich was loaded with flavor and had the perfect balance of sweet and savory. It was definitely a crowd pleaser at our table.
My family also raved about the French toast, which was cooked to perfection and had a lovely sweetness to it. But the star of the show was the avocado bagel toast. It was absolutely delicious and definitely the best avocado toast we've ever had. The bagel was toasted to perfection, the avocado was ripe and flavorful, and the toppings were spot on.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. We felt right at home in the cozy atmosphere and really enjoyed our breakfast at Coffee Therapy.
Overall, I would highly recommend Coffee Therapy for anyone looking for a great cup of coffee and delicious breakfast options. The food was top notch, the coffee was on point, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. We'll definitely be...
