I love this place so much it is super classy and probably the most grown-up bar in Pullman. I love to come here for special events or to just have a good time on a random night. I will say that the wait times are long when there is a huge crowd and prices can be a little bit over the top for a single cocktail, but it always leaves me coming back for more.
Sometimes the music is hit and miss, and the DJ will completely empty out the dance floor because of the choice of music or the transition is terrible.
Despite the swanky dim light atmosphere that I love so much, I do think that the bathrooms could use an improvement. Every year they claim to close down for cleaning and/or fixing things up, but the bathroom remains the same. It’s not a pleasant environment when you are crammed into a tiny closet sized room with three miniature sized stalls that barely close and have holes in the locks so that you can see right through to the people outside. Half the time there are no paper towels, and it is so rundown and claustrophobic in there that it makes you uncomfortable. I would expect a place that charges so much and is so fancy to have a little bit better of a bathroom, especially considering the amount of people that come in and out of there during a busy night.
This bar will always be my favorite, but I just wish management would take note of these issues and make improvements for a...
Read moreUpdate: I was a little upset when I wrote this and definitely should have given a third star in my original review because the staff was very nice. Also one of the co-owners reached out to me within hours about our experience, so I'm adding another start for that. I think anyone who takes the time to reach out to people who had a bad experience at ther business shows how much they care about people really enjoying the place they have built and to me that is huge.
Music was great but my roommate and I both ordered the same drinks all night (both of us having different drinks) and every time our drink tasted different either to sweet or too sour there was no consistency. The worst part though was that when we asked to close our tab at 1:20 and for a glass of water we had just ordered drinks and after signing the tab I realized while a second waitress dropped off the water she took both of our drinks that were almost completely full, we had only taken one drink each. So it was very disappointing to end the night paying for a drink and then have it taken before you could drink it.
On a positive note the DJ was great...
Read moreAs an autistic student and member of the broader WSU community, I had high hopes that places like Bravo the Emporium and Cry Abby Cafe would provide inclusive and welcoming spaces beyond the typical Greek Row social scene. Sadly, my experience was quite different.
Both venues, while outwardly charming, seem deeply intertwined with the same exclusive culture that permeates Greek Row—where subtle social hazing and isolation of those who are neurodivergent or simply “different” remain commonplace. For individuals on the autism spectrum, the resulting sense of being quietly but persistently pushed to the margins is both painful and alienating.
It is deeply disappointing that spaces which could have served as creative, inclusive havens instead reinforce social hierarchies and exclusionary norms. My sincere hope is that the owners and community reflect on the hidden harm this culture creates, and work actively to foster an environment where all patrons—regardless of neurological or social difference—feel genuinely valued and welcome. How...
