Harbor Scoops — Restaurant in Punta Gorda

While waiting in line for 2 minutes or longer in my socially distant space they provided on the floor with tape. My family waiting in the car as to not have them all in the ice cream store. I watched a large group of teenagers being allowed to go wherever they pleased without keeping away from others including myself, when suddenly I heard a loud “mam” by a young employee who said “you need to leave” rudely (from across the room). How rude! I was apparently the 11th person and they could only have 10. Ok, I get that because I didn’t know there was a 10 person limit inside. She then followed me out and did not social distance herself from me to tell me again that I couldn’t be inside the building. Maybe using some manners and being kind in your approach would go a long way. Perhaps you should stand at the door and stop people. One out... one in. OR here is a novel idea... maybe you should not be allowing groups who are not social distancing in, instead of telling someone who is following the rules that they have to leave. Since the the teenager do not all need to be in the store at the same time, like my family that waited in the car! I understand common sense is no longer common among the millennials. You have lost this family...

I went to this ice cream shop for the first time on Saturday 8/24 at around 7:30pm with my mother, younger sister, and cousins who were in town visiting. Despite living in the area & hearing many good things about it I had never made my way there before though I wanted to & had planned to. It was fairly busy being a summer Saturday evening, but we were tended to immediately and with the most friendly service by a pleasant woman who was probably about in her thirties. She was very professional and courteous. My cousin chose maple walnut and continues to talk about it days following. She said it was amazing and one of the best tasting maple ice cream she ever had. Her father tried it and also enjoyed the flavor. He was pleasantly impressed. I chose what I think was named "Caramoo Tracks" which had a caramel swirl with mini peanut butter cups. I love caramel, peanut butter, and chocolate but never though to put the 3 together and it was decadent! I will be back for more as that is my new favorite flavor and a great shop! Harborwalk Scoops and Bites is an awesome ice cream shop! My sister and her best friend brought me in one day and I've been a fan ever since! They sell not only ice cream but milkshakes, malts, shaved ice, banana bread and much more. There is a large variety of flavors and other items to pretty much please anyone. They even have take home pints for later which is great! The staff is always so friendly and always offering samples of anything you want to try. And even when it's really busy, they are fast and efficient! I want to steal their employees to come work for me. ;) They are definitely taught good work ethic! I sneak in sometimes while I'm at work for a treat after lunch. And I bring my kids in for a special treat on occasion after school. I love that they have a punch card to earn a free ice cream! It's the little details that make it great. It's not just an ice cream shop. It's a mini family friendly getaway. Love...
