Dockside Grill — Restaurant in Punta Gorda

This is one of those occasions where the Service stole the show. Food and ambiance were noteworthy, BUT, Lori deserves the Oscar 🏆

Brief History: we were a group of about 24 people and add to that other hotel guests, so all tables were occupied. Floor staff had their hands full. Somehow, in the midst of all the chatter, distractions and people … Lori W emerged as personable, knowledgeable of the menu and supremely professional in her demeanor. Idk how my table lucked out to have her as our Server, but I felt blessed. Lori’s remarkable personality shone thru. She was the epitome of Joy, a beautiful and graceful figure gliding across the floor greeting and interacting with everyone with seemingly effortless grace, appreciation for our presence and most of all, a radiant smile that said “I’m happy you’re here”.

Lori made my entire dining experience a very pleasant and memorable one. I encourage everyone to ask for her by name. Y’all can thank me later.

The Thanksgiving buffet was below average. The carved turkey was a sad white meat breast that could have passed for lunch meat. No dark meat, no wings, no legs. The sides were decent at least. The staff was miserable (not all, but definitely our waitress). She broke a glass on the table while picking up dishes and left it covered with a napkin as its contents leaked onto the floor. Her response was “I’ll clean it when you leave before the next seating.” Not surprising as the tip was prepaid and therefore she didn’t have to work for it or be pleasant for that matter. We stayed at Four Points by Sheraton in Punta Gorda and had an exceptional dining experience at Dockside Grill. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. What truly made our visit memorable was the outstanding service provided by our server, Tara. She was professional, knowledgeable, and extremely attentive throughout our meal. Tara handled everything with poise and made us feel well taken care of from start to finish. We highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Tara as your server!
