I mean, the place smells nice but when they run out of food and tell you it will be 7-10 minutes for your order to be ready and 30 go by and the lobby is filling up with people waiting for their orders and the HS staff makes excuses about getting deliveries at lunch time … well, not the best experience. I understand it’s a new joint but they don’t have their act together. Give them some time. Food is good, although not made on site. They do prompt you to tip at checkout, which is awkward when the service is poor after the fact.

I’m Latino by marriage to an Argentine girl. I have been to BA and other parts of Argentina multiple times. I have enjoyed hundreds of empanadas from all kinds of restaurants, hole in the wall mercados and food trucks. Making (wife and mother-in-law) and enjoying empanadas are a regular part of my life! This place was a great find. Very delicious and authentic empanadas. I had never had a brisket one, it was great. Very tasty Chimichurri sauce to dip them in. The alfajores are a must try for dessert! ¡Muy rico!

Empanadas are excellent, no lie some of the best around the area. Its a nice clean, quiet, new location with a small inside to eat in that’s easy to get in and out of fast. Have several different options from beef, chicken, veggie and breakfast empanadas and all Ive tried have been delicious. Try the Spicy beef, Argentina, Mushroom and Kale but you can’t go wrong either way. Low key spot that should be checked out by more people.

It was my first time trying the Argentinian version of this Latin American food staple and I was very pleased with the experience. If I remember correctly I had 6 of them, and my two favorites were the Argentine one and the brisket one, followed closely by the buffalo chicken one. For the sweet tooth of mine, I ate the apple filled one, so that would make it 7 in total! Yup, I like to eat! Also, I had the pleasure to meet the owner, young man who was very approachable and friendly easy going type of guy. We chatted for a little bit about different type of empanadas and about trying different kinds of food from other countries. Very refreshing to hear him talking about his will of trying other cultures’ food and the drive to make his shop the place to go eat those yummy empanadas. Friendly service from his staff and very nice decor inside the shop too! Will come back for another round, that’s for...

I'm not angry by any means because the food was good but the place was very slow and unorganized. I just want the owners to know what's going on so they can fix it because again, the food was delicious, and I would like to make repeat visits.

They were out of most of the empanadas last night and said it could be up to a 20 minute wait. I ordered from the case instead of waiting (people were already waiting in front of me) but I still waited 15 minutes and by the time they got to me they said they had no corn and cheese. I looked back in the case and the section marked corn and cheese was full. Very strange. I picked something else from the case.

I would think you guys need a manager or someone to keep the crew on their individual tasks. Someone takes phone orders and makes what they need from those orders. Someone keeps the case full and kitchen clean. Someone takes orders and maintains...

Gringo Gordo sells great empanadas. They have a large variety of empanadas and even have non meat/vegetarian options as well. The workers are very friendly and patient. They are very helpful if you have any questions or concerns. The building is nice. It’s a small, but comfortable place with indoor seating choices as well as outdoor seating. Your food is given in boxes which can be used to dine in or be to go. I like this because there’s no confusion and it eliminates having to ask for a to go box or anything inconvenient like that. The overall vibe is very nice and a top pick for my family...
