Joe's Bar - Put-In-Bay, OH — Restaurant in Put-in-Bay Township

If you want to subject your entire party to be harassed and screamed at by an extremely rude staff... this place is for you. We've made Joe's our last stop year after year with a very large group of family and friends, but never again. For whatever reason there was obviously an issue at this establishment just prior to our arrival because the police showed up in force and were writing an incident report in the parking lot. Just after, the bartender leaped over the bar and aggressively went after one of our family members who accidentally approach the wrong door to go outside, was manhandled and his drink was tossed from his hand and shoved out the door. Completely unnecessary! Your staff overreacted to nothing, was clearly on edge about something and took it out on us. A simple excuse me sir would have been the appropriate reaction. You can make whatever excuses you want, but I saw the whole thing. There is no excuse for the way the staff treated us. And to make matters worse, we all leave immediately and get outside to see our teenage kids waiting for us being screamed at and harrassed by other staff because one was drinking a pepsi at their golf cart. The signs clearly say no alcohol outside building and that's understandable, but to scream at innocent teenagers...you should all be ashamed of yourselves. There is no way we will give this establishment another penny ever again. Oh and you are welcome for the money we paid you yesterday for the Bloody Mary's we didn't even get to drink. You should think twice before you go...

WORST PLACE EVER!! DO NOT EVEN BOTHER GOING HERE!!! If I could give this place a 0 star I would. My family and friends have gone to this establishment for 3 years in a row and have really enjoyed ending our Put in Bay visit with their bloody mary's. This year will be our 4th year ending our Put in Bay visit and they totally ruined it! A member of my family mistakenly tried to open a close/storage door thinking it was an exit.......the bartender jumped over the bar and was very rude and aggressive toward him!!! We all exited the bar promptly due to this treatment only to find another bar employee harassing our teenagers who were waiting for us outside. They accused them of drinking alcohol but they were only drinking pop (Pepsi, Mt. Dew and Rootbeer) out of a cooler. If they had only gone over and asked or even looked at what the kids had they would have known they did not have alcoholic beverages/open containers. The employees at this place totally overreacted and are way too aggressive!!! Save yourself a big headache and disappointment!!!!! We will never...

Got ignored at the bar as the bartender looked at me plenty of times while I went up to place an order after receiving a menu looked it over and came back up... he was rude didn't answer any questions I had about the food seemed very irritated that I was ordering and I waited patiently the bar was not full but I guess since I came in with children and not ordering alcohol I was not on the list of reasons to be assisted.... since this was my first time there I had question where to go to go sit on the patio to eat outside the reply I got was "its out that door" well which door I assumed I had to walk out to the parking lot and around the building. Got snuffed because we asked for ketchup.... I probably will not go back I may give another try but not anytime soon... I understand it's the island and you have a certain attitude but at least acknowledge a person have the attitude but come on... at least the food was...
