This was one of my worst dining experiences. I love cajun/creole and have eaten alot of it. Was so excited to come here.

Summary: food tasted off or wasn't made traditional. Small portions of appetizers. Extremely rude server. Gumbo had an odd sour flavor. Etouffee had very little crawfish, also bitter taste and made with tomato sauce not roux. Unbalanced. I didn't want to eat either dishes which is rare.

We waited at the host area for about 15+ minutes without being acknowledged. Party after us asked if anyone spoke to us even. Tons of seating empty. Warm inside no AC just poorly fans. Outside which had a breeze but no shading could have been an option but the tables were left with all the previous clients plates etc not cleared off.

Ordered Seafood cakes which is apparently shrimp and fish. You couldn't taste any seafood. Mushy. Plain. Why oh why would you add sweet chili sauce to the cajun aoli sauce? Weird flavoring. Three very small cakes for $17

BBQ shrimp. 5 of them. Was told they were big. But these were pretty medium/average sized. And at $19 way over priced. In fact.. was charged $19 but the menu said $17. Sauce had a great flavor. Shrimp were overcooked. Asked to have the three remaining shrimp re-cooked and they did do that and those were good. Re-did the whole meal and I got 5 shrimp and new bread.

Server rarely came to ask how our meal was. I had to flag him down. Not friendly.

Table was so so tiny that the plates did not fit on the table and when I was putting my food to go i had to put it on the floor. Why bother with tiny tables when you have giant presentation bowls for food. Doesn't make sense and made for very uncomfortable dining.

Gumbo- which i didn't realize was also an entree larger option. The roux was lighter not dark like traditional. Sour strange taste to it. Friend chicken was just okay tasting. Didnt want to eat anymore. $28

Etouffe- why are there mussels with this? I asked for extra crawfish instead. Not sure if that even happened. Needed some shrimp in there. Small portion of crawfish. Bitter and very tomato based. Which is usually not traditional style. I could make this at home with a can of tomato paste. No roux.

When I asked about some details on the bill (why menu prices were different from bill along with thinking husband ordered the gumbo appetizer but apparently was the fried chicken one. Which is an odd mix) server got angry/mocking. I explained we waited an hour for food, and a while to be seated, and a while for the bill. With food that was subpar. He then told me to just leave.

After poor food ,long wait and bad service I will never recommend this place. What a...

Extremely disappointing experience! I have been there before and was very happy, this time around I won’t be back or recommend this place. When we checked in, we were offered an outside table or to wait until one comes open. We were waiting about 15 minutes and another party with same amount of people as us checked in and right away a separate inside area was opened for seating and got seated immediately. We stay because we are trying to support small businesses. We finally get seated and the table is wobbly, way too wobbly to even enjoy sitting. We get that taken care of and order drinks. The bartender lady takes forever to make the drinks because she’s busy talking/ flirting with either a worker who is just standing at the bar or a boyfriend hanging out at the bar, making drinks we’re not her priority. We order our food which takes forever to come out. Son’s pasta doesn’t have the shrimp he asked for so back to the kitchen it goes, my hush puppies are frozen inside so back to the kitchen they go- the owner himself becomes our server becomes who knows what happened to ours. I get another set of hush puppies the same way- I even asked the owner to feel for himself so he knows it’s not just me complaining, he says he knows what went wrong and goes to get more. Son’s pasta finally comes out with the shrimp while I wait on my hush puppies. Unfortunately I was not even able to eat my meal as a whole because of the frozen hush puppies. After all this, the owner brings us our bill and offers no compensation. My son explains that he was taking me out for celebration dinner and doesn’t thinks it’s right that he isn’t even trying to provide good customer service- he gives us 20% discount. After all that of not even being to enjoy our meals at the same time or as a whole it was extremely disappointing to have to even ask to be compensated. We definitely will not be back!! A few other small things like forgotten sauces, dirty water glass-( lipstick stain) that we overlooked still just...

We were excited to come here since my wife and I love creole and cajun food. We assumed the seafood here would be great, so my wife got the fried shrimp basket and I got the shrimp po boy.

First, the food took about 50 minutes to come out. We were seated at around 6:05pm and ordered almost immediately after. We got our food a few minutes before 7pm. It was a Tuesday evening and the restaurant was not even half full, needless to say we were irritated.

My wife’s fried shrimp basket came with 8-10 medium size fried shrimp and about a pound of garlic french fries with some dipping sauces. It cost $23. It was underwhelming, it was comparable to Popeyes fried shrimp but double the price. It looked like a massive amount of french fries with some small sad shrimps thrown on top.

My shrimp Po boy was also extremely mediocre. I prefer a Po boy with large fried shrimp, even if there are only 4-5 in the sandwich. This Po boy had small shrimps and there were not enough to cover the whole sandwich. By the end of the sandwich I was eating just bread. The bread also tasted pretty cheap, similar to the .99 cent bread rolls you can get from Safeway or Fred Meyer. The sandwich came with garlic fries and cost nearly $19.

Overall the food was negligibly mediocre. The check came to nearly $50, however the food and service definitely was not worth the price. The server must have noticed we were not very enthusiastic about the food and brought us some beignets, on the house. We appreciated the gesture, however, the beignets were just fried pieces of dough with an ungodly amount of powdered sugar on top. There was probably three full cups of powdered sugar on top. The beignets were very dry and badly needed a dipping sauce, but none was provided.

Overall, this restaurant is not one I would recommend. We have had much better fried shrimp and shrimp Po boys at Asian style seafood boil restaurants, that do not even claim to be Creole or Cajun inspired. This place is not worth...

When we got in they told us to take a seat on the left hand side never gave us menus (we had 2 kids and only barstool seating). After approx 10 min the waitress asks if we knew what we wanted to drink (how could we without a menu), so we just all got waters. When we finally got our menus we ordered the crab cakes & gumbo as an appetizer, then I ordered the Crawfish etoufee, my mom ordered shrimp & grits & my wife ordered the Cajun chicken pasta. -The gumbo was terrible. Not seasoned well at all & the shrimp was tiny & not at all seasoned. -Crab cakes were delicious, but the sauce they served it with was horrible. Very mayo & had a sweet & sour sauce mixed it like they got it from a grocery store. -Wife said the Cajun pasta was okay. She had leftovers and didn't want to bring them home. -My mom loved the shrimp and grits & I had a bite and found them quite impressive. Not sure what they do, but the grits have an interesting flavor almost like a fettuccine. -My etouffe was mediocre. Very tomato-y and not nearly enough crawfish. I've had etoufee in CA, NOLA, Vegas, FL, AZ, CO & this was the poorest etiyfet I've had. Now understand that it wasn't horrible, but it was loaded with tomato sauce & it tasted more like a boxed shrimp jambalaya than it did a $20 crawfish etoufee. -drinks were bad when we finally ordered them. The Sazerac was watered down & was more of a shot than it was a drink. The Walnut Old Fashioned had more ice cube than cocktail. -The only reason it gets 3 stars is because the staff was friendly and we all had a great time. I live in the area and I'll never be back again. Theres plenty of restaurants that offer a better drink selection, menu, & service than this place and they are significantly more overpriced than the alternatives in the area. ****2025 edit**** The gumbo is massively improved, the service is significantly better & the drinks are on point. This is the Bourbon Street that I was hoping to experience the first go around.

Bourbon Street is your typical Mardi Gras themed Cajun restaurant. It was cozy, offering different seating with different rooms available. Now I'm from Texas and grew up eating good Cajun/Creole food having Louisiana right next door so I feel this critique can be counted truthfully. We ordered the hush puppies, side of grits with cheese, Bourbon St burger, cochon grits, fried chicken gumbo, and crawfish mac-n-chs. The food was good and flavorful for the most part. However, the grits needed salt and more cheese because I couldn't even taste the cheese. Also, the mac-n-chs was more like crawfish and pasta in a sauce. It too was not cheesey and it was quite saucy, still good on the flavor. The hush puppies were a tad dense but the sauce it was served with made the bite more moist. The gumbo was NOT gumbo. At least not per Creole standards, however it was still good in flavor. Just don't expect gumbo if that's what you're looking for. I would have to say that the piece of fried chicken served with it was pretty chintzy. For the price I would've expected more. We ordered the Bourbon St burger plain and dry, it came out fully dressed so my picky daughter had to wait for them to bring out a new bun, therefore she ate the burger cold essentially. Nikki, our waitress, was super sweet so the service was really good. Lastly I just felt that it was a bit overpriced for what we got. Although the food was decent, I don't think I'll be back.
