I am appalled. My other half and I decided to stop here for dinner tonight, mainly for him. He wanted to get his fill on sushi and I was okay with just having a soda while he enjoyed. He had rushed in to use the restroom. I open the door, I'm instantly stared at by all of the employees. I ask if my other half came in and they said he has. I am already uncomfortable and standing by the door, them still staring until he comes out. They tell us to sit anywhere and I pick the table by the door.
The interior was at least nice. Very clean. That is the only reason for a star right there. It was dead at the beginning, we're the only customers in the business. The woman was very rude in getting his first sushi roll order. I looked through the menu and saw there were some other options. I go for the bento, but I don't eat sushi and am allergic to fish. I asked what I'd be able to substitute for it. I wasn't going to ask for anything weird or crazy expensive. I was willing to work with whatever they could offer.
What did they offer? Extra rice and salad. That's it. I closed the menu and said that's fine, but we all know it wasn't fine after.
I wait while my other half is on his second roll of sushi. My bento box comes out. I take a look and I wanted to cry. She gave just extra salad. Put all the salad in the biggest portions of the box. Put the rice in the second smallest, just one ball, and my chicken in where the California roll would go. My gyoza in where the main meat (I got sweet and sour) would go. She threw in two gyoza for free.
At this point, I'm fuming. But, I want my other half to enjoy. He doesn't get sushi very often and I didn't want to ruin it for him.
My food was almost inedible. Salad was rubbery, dressing was watery. The gyoza were so poorly filled. The rice wasn't the good sticky rice you'd hope to enjoy, it was dry and seemed like it had been sitting in it's cooker for a long while. The worst part? My chicken. It looked and tasted EXACTLY like those P. F. Chang's freezer teriyaki chickens you can get a your local grocery store. Had no vegetables, had that from frozen taste and the sauce was congealed.
That's my take on things. It seems as more people came in, they were friendly to the others. But us, they treated poorly and with disrespect. I wish I would have told my other half once I got my bento that I was unhappy. Might have...
Read moreI've been here three times now, and have very similar experiences. First I'll acknowledge the price. Their sushi is damn cheap. $13 for two rolls after 2pm? That's a deal. They're decent sized rolls too. $13 or $22 for all you can each sushi during lunch or dinner respectively is also a deal if you eat a lot. Well worth it if you don't mind mediocre to decent rolls.
That brings me to the next part of this review. Food quality is less than what you'd expect at a normal Japanese sushi restaurant. They're not bad, let me get that straight. Especially for the price I'll keep eating it. However, pretty much everything comes with the same mayo and eel and some other yellow sauce. Sometimes it comes smothered in it which is not good at all. They're rolls are definitely interesting, but they also seem very similar to each other. Hard to explain. Anyways, for the price it's worth it.
On to customer service. Honestly, I like the whole idea of getting straight to the point. They tell you sit sit down somewhere ask for drinks and when they come back they immediately ask if you're ready. Almost so messing around. The way I like it, however the older woman who usually takes orders and serves food at the booths can be a little hasty even for me. I can see how some customers can be off out by this as shown in the reviews. It can be seen as a bit rude at times.
As for the dude behind the counter making the sushi. Man this guy is fast and friendly. Seriously he's really cool. He busts out rolls like nobody's business. Which might have something to do with the quality. But that's besides the point. My point is he's nice, and quick.
Overall, four stars because of the lack of quality rolls. However that's made up by the price. Also the seemingly lack luster customer service with...
Read moreOk, so I have been wanting Good Sushi for a while and wanted an all you can eat place. Sushi Paradise did more then just meet my standards they surpassed them by leaps and bounds. When we got there I wasn't sure what to expect because I read the reviews on here and everyone seemed impressed but when we got there the place was empty other then a women and the man behind the sushi bar. We were greeted by the women who was very friendly even teasing My husband and I that they had been there five years and what took us so long to come for a visit, she quickly got us to are seats at the sushi bar (very pretty) and took are drink orders (Ice Tea) and even took the time to explain the Menu a little for the all you can eat sushi rolls. The chef making are sushi rolls did an amazing job he was friendly, polite and also asked if we had any questions, He was very fast with are sushi orders. Each order was just as good if not better then that last after every roll we were impressed even more and when we told him it was are 3 year wedding anniversary he asked if he could make us something special and we agreed he made the most amazing sushi rolls with a lightly torched salmon on top and also decorated the plate with Orange slices, whip cream and a cherry on top and lit the orange skin on fire on top of a wine glass in the center to blow out for good luck. The sushi he made us that wasn't on the Menu was to die for and one of the things I liked best of all was that even after we were super full he still wanted to make us more sushi we walked out of there with are tummy's so full I felt like we could have exploded. We will be going back here from now on when we want Sushi for dinner or Lunch. I truly cannot express how impressed I was with there Sushi...
