We usually get our Teriyaki from Happy Teriyaki, where the portions aren't as large but the quality is always outstanding and the staff is wonderful and polite. BUT they aren't open on Sunday. We tried Wok once and were very impressed by the large portions, and the taste/quality was comparable to HT. But this last Sunday will be the last time we will ever, ever go into this eatery again. They close at 9 pm, no time to call ahead so we rushed down there at 8:30. The lady behind the counter looked pissed because we were there. She rushed us to get our order, and when she turned it in to the cook she yelled "SORRY" to him, obviously because we had the audacity to come in and order 40.00 worth of food, to go, 30 minutes before they close. There was one other couple waiting for food, and the counter lady actually told them that "next time try better planning and come in earlier". The people in the kitchen were all yelling in whatever language they speak, and one of the cooks came out to the dining area and sat down and was GLARING at the people waiting to get their food. When we got our food, I paid and the counter lady ripped the money out of my hand, handed me the bag without a thank. you. When we got into our truck, she was locking up and closing blinds...it was 9 o'clock on the dot. So they all got off work and were able to close on time, even with pesky customers who wanted FOOD coming in and bothering them. THE FOOD: Teriyaki chicken was awesome, as were the egg rolls. Kobi Beef Ribs (most expensive item) were sub-par, almost all gristle and very hard to chew. Wonton looked like deep fried tortellini and was so old and so super crispy I had to throw it all in the garbage. Bottom line: I worked for 10 years in a restaurant. We closed at 10 pm. If a customer came in and ordered at 9:55 we had to serve them, courteously, even if it meant staying until 11 when they were finished eating. We never showed frustration to the customer, and most DEFINITELY never mentioned that they were making us stay past closing time. The way we were treated by the staff at WOK is unacceptable, and the food did NOT make up for their nasty, bad attitude. Never going there again. We will just plan to order Teriyaki on Monday through Saturday at Happy Teriyaki, where we can get BOTH excellent service and food! :) The Wok gets 1 star for the...

This is my first visit after my daughter moved to Puyallup, and we were trying to find a value Asian restaurant to dine at. Arrival time was just after noon on a Thursday. The eatery was doing brisk business with takeout but seating is still available. Yes, there is cool air conditioning too!
Daughter ordered the Teriyaki chicken and Katsu lunch combo special ($12.99), and I ended up with Bento B which consisted of Teriyaki chicken, 4 pieces of sushi, 2 pieces of shrimp tempura.and an eggroll ($14.99). Both orders came with a refreshing small salad as well.
The former came out first, and my first impressions was it was large for a lunch special. The bento box came up shortly after, and was impressive as well. Taste-wise - The food tasted fine overall. I found the sushi was done very well. The Teriyaki sauce tasted good, the grilled chicken was a little tough. A general complaint was that some of the fried foods (Katsu especially) were over-fried to become a little tough and dry.
The staff were kind and very efficient, and will even refill ice water to a half empty cup. Location serves Pepsi distributed products.
Overall, this eatery rates 4 out of 5 stars. Despite some of the shortcomings, the meal is a great value, and definitely definitely worth the money. Combined with the lovely staff and the cool air conditioning of the eatery, I shall definitely return to try other things out of their extensive...
Read moreUsed to be a good place All take out now...if you want to eat in you get no plate you have to eat out of a BOX and you are charged for the box to top it off. Eating at table would be uncomfortable with lines and people filling up tables to WAIT for food from Uber eats etc. While they play on phones and wait. Table service discouraged, not one person was dining in... Why tip? No service and they found a way to keep over head down I guess...NEVER AGAIN OH extra sauce $2.00 for 4 Tablespoonfuls. Filthy Bathrooms too. Well we got home missing one Salad. Casa chicken very dry. Sweet and sour chicken felt like chewing flavourless grissle smothered in sugar. 30 minutes after eating 1/4 of my meal I got severely sick. Visited bathroom 10 times in 1.5 hours. Was weak and Shakey and sick all night. Probably should have gone to E.R. NEVER WILL BUY THIS FOOD AGAIN!!! And the older lady is rude too...never acknowledged us as we stood there for 4 full minutes In front of 2 women... one busy on phone other on computer... not one acknowledgement .. not even hello... so goodbye to them. YOU ARE BETTER OFF driving to Kyoto Teriyaki Restaurant 513 S. Meridian ...Wonderful Teriyaki and food, Great attitudes, and Fast service. You...
