Just to get it out of the way: Who didn't tell me Bojangles came to Pennsylvania? They haven't been this far north since the one on Broadway in Brooklyn a long time ago, the less said the better.
This franchise is kind of convenient to some well-regarded breweries, so my friend surprised me with this visit on a Saturday afternoon. After catching my breath, we ordered from the cheerful staff - as friendly as any Bo's in the South I've visited, and this is the benchmark - and waited maybe five minutes for the bounty, while drinking the very sweet tea that maybe one is better off cutting with the unsweetened tea a little if one is not used to sugar overload.
Between us were cajun chicken filet biscuits, a three-piece and a two-piece, slaw, mashed potatoes, hash browns, and fries (lots of potatoes). The biscuits are really the most important thing to get right, and did they ever deliver on that! (Side note: there's a window next to the registers where you can watch the chicken and biscuits be prepared, a nice bonus.) Easily the best fast food biscuit, it isn't even close.
On top of that, the cajun spice is a notch more pronounced than a Popeye's spicy chicken, the chicken parts uniformly juicy and very much over-battered. The sides work out well, especially those little oniony hash browns. The fries never seem to arrive crisp, like they sit and steam before they are handed off. It's a minor quibble with such a delightful surprise find. Thankfully, it's far enough away that I won't be...
Read moreI don’t believe any of these 5 star reviews at all. The manager must be making these reviews cause the reviews are nothing like the food, service, professionalism etc.
I am absolutely appalled about the service my mother and I received at this location. The manager needs to be fired or needs to revisit customer service training . I’m contacting corporate and I will not stop until something is done. He wouldn’t even give his name or the corporate address.
Long story short, my mom wanted a refund. He was extremely disrespectful and didn’t want to refund my mothers money. He’s an hispanic male, about 6ft, red contacts, basement tattoos and long hair tied back into a ponytail. He repeatedly kept saying “this isn’t a fast food restaurant”….are you serious? How are you manager and don’t realize that you serve FAST FOOD. He was clearly body shaming cause why was the fast food comment necessary? He was speaking to my mother completely disrespectful. I’m appalled by this managers actions. He was even disrespectful to the young man (tending to register) who graciously helped my mother. The “no name” manager is a poor representation of this company. How is he preparing food? How is he treating his employees??? As I mentioned I will continue to fight this issue. I will be in contact with corporate and I will update w the employees name.
Side bar: If the manager was in the right? Why didn’t he give his information??? He knew he was completely...
Read moreListen, I love the food here, it's solid, it’s consistent, and it delivers! But let me tell you something: this is the only place around, and the experience? It’s a mess.
The woman working the drive-thru on Friday night? Cranky, miserable, and totally checked out. That’s not how you treat customers! Your staff represents your brand, and when they act like they don’t want to be there, guess what happens? Customers leave.
The restaurant itself? Clean. Nice. Looks professional. The food? Fantastic. But the front-of-house attitude? An embarrassment. Smile, for crying out loud! You’re in the hospitality business!
And here’s the thing, if your employees can’t speak English well, that’s fine! I’m all for diversity. But if you’ve got an attitude problem n top of a language barrier, you’re creating friction that drives customers away.
So here’s the bottom line: Fix the attitude. Or you’re gonna have a great kitchen... and an empty...
