In our attempt to avoid the goblins at home we visited here for an early dinner on Halloween prior to attending a movie. Not suprisingly, the place was dead. With time to kill, we decided to have a drink at the bar prior to dinner. We found our way to seats at the near empty bar where we noticed two bartenders and a few other staff members kibitzing and yucking it up behind the bar. No problem here since it was Halloween, a time to have fun even at work. Yet, it took several minutes for one of the bartenders to ackknowlege our presence and warmly greet us. He delivered our beverage requests to us in a reasonable amount of time. The wine requested was pleasant and of sufficient volume. The cocktail appeared to be a somewhat generous pour yet seemed especially pale for a whiskey mix. My eyes did not deceive me, it clearly tasted primarily of sugar water. My usual position when receiving food not to my liking is to grin and bear it. This cocktail however, I could not imagine imbibing. I expressed my displeasure to the bartender who graciously apologized and offered to replace, not comp, it with another choice. When it was time for our meal we were seated in the main dining area to be served by Kristen. We found her to be pleasant and accomodating with her answers to the questions we had about the menu. The nachos we ordered to share as an appetizer were plentiful, clearly enough for two people, and quite tasty. The half rack of ribs were also ample, tender, and richly flavored. The bourbon glazed sirloin steak had good flavor, little fat, and cut easily yet it was prepared a little past medium rare as ordered. The accompanying broccolli was fresh and cooked perfectly. Not so the mashed potato that resembled wall paper paste, thick and gooey with little flavor. Our entrees were presented to us prior to our completing our appetizer and dishes remained on the table througout our meal. Fortunately we were not in a rush because the service was decidely slow, seemed to be more Halloweening on the part of the staff than attending to customers. All in all we will likely return here in the future primarily becaused we enjoyed our meals and because of the manner the bartender responded to our concern about...
Read moreUpon arrival, we should have noticed that at being late at night on a Thursday, there were not a lot of people in the parking lot... we had limited wait time before sitting down. There were 3 waitresses working, a bartender, and the manager. There were approximately 6-8 people at the bar and 4 families at various stages of eating. We made the fifth, and I'm explaining this for various reasons. I figured it would be quick to get our food and leave.... wrong. I figured that with 3 waitresses, the food would deliver quickly and hot, wrong. I figured that it was 07:30 pm at night, people would be waited quickly and efficiently....wrong again!! Our waitress to put it simply was awful, I have never not tipped in my 35 years, and today was that day!! She was slow, annoyed that she had to work and was basically absent the entire time. She gave drinks because she had too, another waitress threw our food down on the table, and it was cool, so it had sat in the back for a while. The pasta dish I had was disgusting as the pasta was overcooked and stuck together. The shrimp was nasty and chewy , and I wasn't even able to eat it. My child, who only eats chicken fingers and fries, wasn't even able to eat his food because it tasted bad, he said. The unamused waitress, who was our primary, finally delivered the check but never came back, and after 20 minutes of waiting, I went to the bar to pay. Paid and left, I did leave a tip but then realized I signed the wrong slip and said to hell with it basically....it had been a long 5 hr drive and poor service for food!! Our waitress came running up to us as we walked out saying how sorry she was and I just waved goodbye. I'm hoping it was just an off night for her...
Read moreDon't order the steak from the menu, it is now only a 6 ounce piece of meat. They try to fill up the plate by doubling up the two side. The servers put the place down and run because they don't want to hear " Where is the beef?". The service is good. The pieses are going up for what they are serving. Beware.
We have not been to Friday's for quite a while. So we went tonight. We ordered an appetizer of the green beans. We like the dip that came with them very much. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with hickory bacon, lettuce, tomato, red onion, sharp cedder cheese, a spicy aioli sauce on a roll and french fries. I ordered it as with no tomato and no roll.
What I received was a VERY SMALL piece of frozen chicken breast that was warmed up on the grill, swarming with cheddar cheese. Under the chicken was lettuce that was UNEDIBLE and pickles. On top of the sharp cedder cheese was regular bacon and crispy onion straws, with a brown gravy sause in a little cup on the side with French fries. Needless to say I did NOT eat much of my meal. I took everything out from under the chicken. I took most of the sharp cedder cheese off. I took all the crispy onion straws off the top and only ate the VERY SMALL piece of the chicken (that was like rubber) and the regular bacon. I am a diabetic. I have a very strict diet. But I hoped that what I ordered would come out of the kitchen that way I had asked for. It didn't come. As for my husband's meal. He ordered the cajun chicken and shrimp dinner that had fettuccine noodles. The noodles where tough. Very little shrip and the chicken had ALOT of gristle it it. Most of the chicken was UNEDIBLE.
WE ARE NOT GOING BACK...
