Just had an early supper at Applebee's Quincy, IL. Our waitress was good, despite her inexperience, as she had only been working there for 4 days. She was attentive and helpful. Although, the service was acceptable, the food and cleanliness of the restaurant was not acceptable. As seen in the photos, every table/booth divider was covered with fingerprints and smeared grease/food from prior patrons. There was debris on the carpet throughout and a fake nail was on the floor right next to our booth from the time we arrived until the time that we left. Another waitress had a trainee shadowing her and they walk over and passed the nail several times. In addition, our waitress and the manager walked passed the nail as well. Yhr booth that I was sitting in also had smeared stuff on it opposite of where I sat.. The bathroom had a faucet that continuously ran and could not be shut off, the light cover overhead was broken, andthere was debris on the floors and dust build up on the toilet paper holder as well as the stall walls. We got the 2 for $30 option with 2 drinks. I got the steak, garlicky green beans and fries. The steak was cooked well, when I had requested medium well. There was no real flavor on the steak or any juices remaining. The garlicky green beans were lathered in garlic and parmesan, I assume because the green bean itself could not be tasted. The fries were just fine. I was able to use some of the garlic and parmesan to aid in adding flavor to my steak. We also got the spinach artichoke with chips for appetizer with our special. We did get some whole chips but over half of our chips were crumbles that looked like we got the end of the bag. Although the restaurant was dirty and in disrepair and the food was sub par for a $39 bill, we still were gracious with tip for our brand new waitress. It is not her fault and she is simply too new to concentrate on more than making sure her tables have what they need. I was just not satisfied that we had spent $39 for a meal that could have been at a cleaner and higher food quality restaurant...
Read moreI was very disappointed with our visit to Applebee’s last night. I took my husband out for an early Fathers Day meal. Of coarse he picks Applebee’s. He loves the steaks from there, or I should say did. They were using some type of special wood grill, well I guess they don’t anymore. That’s not why I am giving them 1 star though. The service was not good at all. Our table felt dirty, which we asked the waitress if she would wipe it off which she did. Two other tables asked the same. She said it was do to the high humidity. Ok could be but if tables are doing that , then replace or refinish them. Whatever , who wants to stick to their table. At the prices you pay for the food you should be able to put your arms or phone on table without them sticking to it. My meal was so bland and my chicken breast I ordered was burnt on one edge. No, I didn’t send it back because honestly I was starving and I just wanted out. We weren’t the only ones unhappy I heard at least 3 other tables complaining about their food. One table it was there drinks being watered down. I use to really love going there. But this will be my last visit there. Last time we were there I had a dish with rice. The rice tasted half cooked. I left it. Our Applebee’s days our over at least at this location. Happy Fathers Day to my husband. Hopefully next year he will get a better meal....

If Willy Wonka ran a grill and bar, it would probably look a lot like Applebee’s in Quincy, Illinois! I walked in expecting a simple meal, and what I got was a delightful journey through Flavortown with a pitstop in Happyville.
First off, the staff is so friendly, I half expected them to break out into a choreographed dance number. My server, we'll call him "The Applebees Whisperer," knew exactly what I needed before I even looked at the menu. The way he recommended the Fiesta Lime Chicken made me feel like I was about to experience the Super Bowl of taste explosions. And let me tell you, it was a touchdown in my mouth!
And the ambiance? Picture this: cozy booths, warm lighting, and a vibe that says, "You’re family here, but not in the intense, competitive board-game-night way." It’s more like a family reunion where everyone’s had just enough queso dip to keep things friendly.
By the end of my meal, I was so full and content, I briefly considered asking if they had a napping room. Instead, I waddled out the door with a smile that lasted all the way home.
In short, Applebee’s Quincy is like a big, warm hug for your soul – if that hug also came with boneless wings and a side of endless laughter. Five stars, two thumbs up, and one very happy...
