The normal hotel I stayed at had no more rooms, so I chose this hotel off the great reviews. Biggest mistake. The towels were hard, the bathroom was not cleaned upon arrival, and the room looked like it needed renovations with cracked ceilings. The spacing is odd—tiny closet space and a microwave that gets stuck and is hard to open. The front desk staff weren’t friendly and never acknowledged guests coming in or out. Out of the 4 at the desk, only the lady with glasses made an effort to help and was friendly. For the 3rd day, we waited for housekeeping because we didn’t have any cleaning for 3 whole days and we needed more towels. I heard housekeeping in the hallway in the morning. An hour goes by, and no one from housekeeping has knocked on the door. (When booking, they asked how often you want housekeeping. I clicked the every other day option.) I finally put in the app to get “extra housekeeping.” After another hour, I called down asking the front desk lady with black hair if housekeeping would come today. She stated they should’ve been on my floor by now. I informed her that housekeeping was there earlier but never came to the room. She put in a request and let me know that housekeeping would come before 3. I asked her if I could come down to get towels. She said yes. I came down after I got off the hotel phone just to get ignored by her and not acknowledge me saying hi and standing there for several minutes. I walked away and came back, and it repeated, so I went back upstairs. All of a sudden she comes up 5 mins later with towels. So, I thought it might be a misunderstanding and she didn’t see/hear me. The housekeeping came at 12, and I asked for a laundry bag. When I asked for that, she asked if I needed towels or the whole service. I said everything. I went to put the clothes in the bag just to see her walking away, stating she was going on her break. I thought by the time I came back in the evening there would be a different story. I arrived back at the hotel; there were no towels, the bed was not changed, and the garbage was not taken. The key cards started not to work, and the television internet didn’t work either, but when asked how to fix it, we got a response that we were doing it wrong and dismissive. Meanwhile, we had been doing the same for the past 3 days. The last day I woke up to a bill more than my nonrefundable charge. I finally talked to the manager, and he stated someone changed the room type when the bill was sent. He fixed it immediately. 4 hours after checkout, I suddenly have an extra charge for beverages that I’ve never gotten. Never felt so...
Read moreSo the day I was supposed to check out I am sleeping, someone knocks and immediately is coming in. I was trying to get out of bed and stating I was in the room. The bolt thing was on the door so they was not able to come in due to that. Two things though, it was 8:45 am in the morning. I had the door hanger on and signs on the door for volleyball girls. But they did not even allow enough time for me to get up, even though I was clearly yelling to let them know I was in there. When I got to the door no one to be seen, I knew it was the cleaning lady cause she did the same thing across the hallway with someone else. Then vacuuming the hallway right outside the door. No apology no recognizing what she did. Then my husband calls to let me know how account was debited 140.00 from our account, went downstairs to let front desk know about the walk in and the charge. The lady apologized for the housekeeper and then told me that the hotel takes the incidentals and will credit me back in 2-3 days the difference. I explained that is NOT RIGHT to hold my funds for 2-3 days when the agreed amount and the email I showed her said $111.72. Was debited $140.00 from my account. This is completely unprofessional from the cleaning lady just walking in, with this the cleaning lady should be provided a list of rooms that have checked out for sure than just coming into peoples rooms that early in the morning. Then the disregard of courtesy from the front desk regarding the charges. Not impressed at all! The rooms was nice, quiet and clean though and the breakfast was great. I have just never had a hotel to do things above...
Read moreI requested on more than on occasion to be well away from the elevator and was placed right across the hallway - it was in my original booking online at least 5-6 months in advance, I also called 4-5 days in advance to make sure I'd be closer to an end as needed a quiet room, and also asked upon arrival. With a partial wedding party staying in same hotel, it was incredibly loud with talking in the halls, slamming doors and dinging of the elevator going well past 1 a.m. Very surprisingly for a Fairfield Inn, the walls were paper thin and could hear tv's in both rooms we were btwn, as well as other noise my children did NOT need to be hearing. Could also hear the children yelling in the room below us on the first night. The 2nd night was MUCH quieter as many had checked out, thankfully. I had 2 rooms reserved (family members had a 3rd room), when I called 4-5 days in advanced, asked for side by side or across the hall. Gal at desk assured me she had blocked them together. Upon arrival, didn't happen, this gal at desk said it was not blocked as I was told over the phone.
On a good note, the bed was very comfortable, rooms very, very clean. Breakfast had lots of choices, but eggs and sausage seemed under cooked, though Canadian turkey bacon was pretty tasty. The muffins were some of the best we'd ever had, and the waffles are always a hit with the kids.
Staff was super friendly, cleaning staff was so welcoming, friendly and very kind every time we passed them in the hallway or met them in the elevator. Went out of their way to say hello...
