I don’t usually give reviews but after given them numerous chances to make the situation right I give up and I feel I need to warn people so they don’t have something similar happen to them. I bought a car 8 months ago for $13,000 it ran fine but needed new tires. In December I took it to Tire Plaza Service in Quincy IL. During the tire install they asked if I would like a complimentary oil change. I Left the shop and drove home stopping a couple times, came home a few miles away for a couple hours. I then left for church. The oil lights and alarms started going off and said out of oil shut off engine immediately. I pulled over nearby. pulled the dipstick and none was on it. Had my friend bring me oil and put 5 quarts in it. then drove home. drove to work the next day and on the way home it said oil low again. I called Tire Plaza Service and they said bring it in right away so I put some oil in it and drove over there. They said that there was a leak or a bad gasket around the oil plug. Keep in mind this did not have a leak before the oil change or use oil so they bought me a new gasket. I left driving vehicle again every day or so the oil alarms would go off plus the engine was running very loud took it to a mechanic. I trust in Payson, who said the exhaust had been taken off or unhooked he fixed that screws had been removed. tried to reset the computer thought maybe the code was stored because the alarm kept going off continue driving, putting oil in almost daily driving, listening to the alarm adding oil sometimes I would add 6 quarts in a few days got tired of dealing with it. It was no longer leaking at this time took it to a respectable mechanic here in Quincy, who I’ve went to for years and who has a good reputation in the community, they looked at the motor and ran test and determined that the motor was bad that it was using and losing oil through all of its bearings and other parts of the motor said there was nothing they could do to it that it would need a new motor which would cost between$8,000 to $10,000 said that because it was an older motor when it ran it out of oil it ruined it and it couldn’t come back from it. the engine could not keep oil pressure. I took the written up statement from the mechanic to tire Plaza service. They listened to what I had to say, copied my paper and said that they would send it up the chain. I called a couple weeks later because I hadn’t heard anything talk to the man in charge. Explain the situation. He asked questions wanted pictures of the oil spot in the garage and said he would be in touch. Waited another week. Didn’t hear anything at this point the car had began to smoke extremely bad and was barely drivable so I took it to a car dealer to see what I could get for it because I needed to put that money toward something that I could drive being a single person with one car traded it in they generously gave me $3000 for it. I say generously because the motor is shot. then tire Plaza called back asked more questions accused me of being a liar, said that that mechanic was not able to be trusted and that since they couldn’t tear the engine apart and diagnose themselves that they would not help or compensate me in anyway they did say they would give me the $150 back that I paid my mechanic to diagnose the motor which is laughable because that oil change ended up costing me $10,000. I would not take my vehicle there ever they obviously do not have qualified people to work on these cars. They obviously have no experience. They shouldn’t have even been anywhere near the exhaust not to mention the oil situation. but after being called a liar, repeatedly and repeatedly questioned I ended the conversation and I told them I was going to let other people know about my experience at their business to which they replied. Go right ahead. I ask that you please share this so that others do not become victims...

Read moreI'm always a last minute oil change person. I've gone to a couple different quick change places in Quincy and walked away feeling robbed. For the past couple of years, I've legitimately gone back to South Dakota to get my oil changed at the shop I knew wouldn't rob me. My time is pretty short right now and I knew I wouldn't be able to make the 9 hour drive to get my oil changed so I checked out Plaza. I'm so glad that I did!! I stopped by after work tonight (Tuesday) and got right in. It was barely a wait before my car was done. They provided an online inspection report and pictures of my car's condition. The price was better than I paid back in South Dakota - by a long shot!!The gentleman working the front counter was friendly and knowledgeable. I'm so happy that I found this store and you've earned a...
