UPDATE PART 2...Aug. 15, 2025...We were encouraged to give them another try. I will say that we were pleasantly surprised. The food was awesome. Combination of pastas and steaks covered the table and it was all great. Staff was friendly and very professional. Stayed on top of every need. This was a Friday evening and the place was busy and no one in our party was ignored or felt slighted in any way. Big thumbs up to the management and staff for making us a believers again. Thank you. We will definitely be back. I am leaving the original review in place only to prove that places have a bad day. Not always perfect. Sometimes it worth a second chance. They definitely earned a new review. 5☆ for sure. May 2025...This was our 2nd trip here, but it will be our last. The first time was above average. This trip was a nightmare. Meal ended up costing around $500 for our table. Speaking of the table, it was a plastic folding table with a table cloth thrown over it. It was nothing nicer than you would have seen at a high. school lunchroom/cafeteria. The chairs were uncomfortable. While the rest of the room was seated in nice high back rolling chairs, we were given metal stacking type chairs like a hotel conference room. Most of the food was good, but honestly, nothing over the top special about it. There was a mixture of salads and pasta at the table, but 2 of us had the Ribeye, and the meat itself was cooked properly but uneventful. Had a similar cut of beef at Longhorns or Outback. My wife ordered a bleu cheese/portobello mushroom dish to accompany her steak, and it was late to the table. Her steak was cold by the time it arrived, and it was not at all what she expected. I'm not sure what it was, but it wasn't bleu cheese. This meal for us was a post graduation / marriage engagement get-together, and we were severely disappointed. I realize that they were busy, but if they can't offer the same service to everyone there, then they shouldn't overbook. I don't know if they were short-handed or what the situation was, but it was not the pleasant evening we expected. And it's not like we were a last-minute thing. I made my reservations months in advance. If you look at my other reviews, you know that I usually find something nice to say about the businesses. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I have no choice. This time, it was not good.

UPDATE... the manager of this restaurant just called me, and we spent several minutes discussing in more detail what my expectations were and how they were not met. I did upgrade their rating a little bit and change some of the more harsh language because it takes guts to call and discuss problems the way he...

I recently dined at BoodaLu for the third time, ( as we don't live in the area), and overall, it was a good experience.

Food – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) The food was outstanding! Every one of our dishes was well-prepared, flavorful, and exceeded expectations. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the presentation was excellent. Definitely a spot I'd return to just for the food alone.

Service – ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5) The service was good—friendly and attentive staff who made sure we were taken care of. However, there were a few small hiccups the previous time we dined there where the waitress had a snarky demeanor, but nothing that would deter me from coming back.

Atmosphere – ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5) The atmosphere was okay but could use some improvement. Whether it was the lighting, seating arrangement, or noise level, something felt a bit off. It wasn’t bad, just not as inviting or comfortable as it could be.

Overall, I’d highly recommend BoodaLu for the amazing food and solid service. If they work on enhancing the ambiance a bit, it could be a truly top-tier...

We so wanted to love this restaurant! There were aspects that were fantastic and other that were highly disappointing. Highlights: Seafood Chowder, Caesar Salad, Bread, Twice Baked Potatoes, Cocktails, and Dessert.

Disappointments: The Bacon Wrapped Filet, do not order!!! It is listed as a peppered bacon wrapped filet, the cut was terrible, ordered it medium came rare, the “peppered” part it was crusted in nothing but whole peppercorns so every bite you got peppercorns stuck in your teeth, it was nauseating. The ribeye overall good, could have had more salt or a finishing salt on top. House steak sauce was overly sweet. Crab cakes lacked flavor and the sauce tasted like it was just mayo and ketchup.

Experience/service: the atmosphere is beautiful. Service our server was good overall but she did forget to put our crab cakes in and then mixed up our soup and salad. She did make up for it with a complimentary dessert. With a bill at $182.00 for 2 people, we really thought it would have...

Just had a wonderful dinner here while in town for the 32nd Annual Showcase of Excellence Jazz Band and Show Choir Competition. We did call earlier in the week for a reservation, which would be highly recommended. For starters, we very much enjoyed the Hawaiian Aho Tuna. For entrees, we enjoyed the Mahi Mahi Special, 6oz Peppered Bacon Wrapped Filet, Medium Rare, and the Ribeye, Medium. For sides, the Garlic Mashed Potatoes and, from our server's recommendation, the Scalloped Corn. Entrees come with either a House Salad or Soup du Jour. The Muddog Soup was a Seafood Medley bisque and was divine! Everything was cooked to perfection. We wished we would have planned better as we did not have room for dessert. Looking forward to visiting again when coming through town. The atmosphere has a very low key vibe of professionalism and conversation. The patrons all seemd to enjoy the quiet atmosphere to work their way through the menu and conversation.

It was the best, great service, great food, and Mark the owner is a blast that checked on us and tables. It's a place that you could eat at and all the foods on their menu would be great to try. My new place! 5/26/3023 very disappointed on food and service. Over a 550. Bill and her service was a 4 to 3 star, I told her I was buying for the table of 8. You'd think she'd at least service us, dubble stuffed potatoes sucked, one guest returned it , wife keeped it, do dry at a 6.00 up charge, steaks , no flavor, I don't know how this happens, half cooked properly, half over cooked. Waitress could not handle our table of 8 and some tables of 2. Twice had to ask about our cocktail s , had to beg for a bag to carry our leftover s. Steaks were bland, was in a week before with my wife, great, guess there needs to be a training. But way to much money for this level of food and service

Amazing place to indulge on a wonderful meal. Not only was the food incredible but so was the staff. They allow you to take your time and we never felt rushed. They spread our appetizer, salad, and meal out so my wife and I could visit and enjoy each other's company, we stayed just around an hour and a half. The building and atmosphere were just as amazing and relaxing. We both had the filet with crab meat and sauce along with the lobster tail. If you have ever been to Annie Gunn's, Ruth Chris, 801 Chophouse, Majestic, or some similar classy steakhouse this tops them in my opinion. We had the opportunity to speak with the owner since he was personally checking in on customers and visiting. We will be returning before we leave Quincy Illinois just to experience it all again.
