I went to Dairy Freeze today. It was my second time visiting. I come from Rhode Island to enjoy this ice cream. My last experience was amazing but this time not so much. I have a sensory issue with food. I specifically, at the counter, ordered a brownie sundae with one scoop of ice cream (I know it comes with two) due to the fact of my sensory issues with food and the young girl was understanding of why I only wanted one scoop. When the sundae was done, I noticed it had two scoops of ice cream filled to the top where I couldn’t even enjoy the ice cream. I tried to get the scoop of ice cream off of the top on my own, but I couldn’t. I then asked one of the girls working if they could take off one scoop for me and just add more whipped cream and walnuts. She told me she could in fact not remake it or fix it. She grabbed the girl who took my order and the girl that took my order began arguing with me that she couldn’t help me, and she was sorry after admitting she heard me ask for the scoop of ice cream. It was just more upsetting because by the time I waited for help, my ice cream had melted, and it had been thrown in the trash. I’m very disappointed by...

Love love love this place. During the summer I come here once a week to get my soft serve ice cream fix. If you are like me, there is no substitute for soft serve. There portions are huge and even a small is very large!

I always get the small vanilla with rainbow sprinkles. Classic and delicious. The Italian Ice is also very good. I recommend Mango!

In the peak of summer it can get super hot so you might want to ask for a cup with your cone, so everything doesn't melt off! I'm a cone person myself (I'm constantly trying to keep from dripping the TONS of jimmies they put on all over myself. But so worth it!)

The staff is always friendly and quick so don't be daunted by the long lines you will see out front. There is no place to sit, so you can either take a short stroll or sit in your car. Montello's across the street has a few tables out front and they haven't minded when we go sit there (especially in the evening/night as they are closing down/closed for the night)

Parking is available right out front (though it can get dense with cars and people) so you can also park across the street in Montello's.

I'm excited to try more of the things they offer,...

Dairy Freeze has been around for as long as I can remember, but I didn’t try it until today. I got the Black Raspberry and Totally Turtle in a cup for $5.45 pre-tax. There was only one other person in front of me, but the wait was quite long, as other reviewers have noted. The counter was run by two high schoolers who didn’t look very happy, but it’s common for local businesses to hire students, so I feel like it kind of adds to the local vibes. I would have just come back another time had it been busier.

Both of the flavors were good, but they had already melted a lot by the time I was served. The Black Raspberry was true to its flavor, and I enjoyed the brownie chunks in the Totally Turtle. I learned afterward that the ice cream is sourced from Richardson’s Ice Cream, which uses high fructose corn syrup, along with other harmful ingredients in its ice cream, so that was disappointing. I don’t think I would come back for that reason, but at least I got to finally check...
