We made a reservation through Google. That was a good thing. Our dinner was scheduled for a Friday night at seven (celebrating an anniversary) and the place was packed. Because of the way the dining room is constructed, it was very loud.
The staff was young and seemed to lack experience. We weren't offered chips and salsa until our hostess noticed we were sitting there for ten minutes without. When it finally came, the salsa had a really good texture, but the flavor was lacking.
Our food did come quickly, arrived nice and hot, and was beautifully presented. We both had combo plates--one ground beef taco, a beef burrito, a chimichanga, and a cheese enchilada with red sauce-- which we thought were a little pricey ($13.98 for two entree choices; $15.98 for three) compared to around $11 for three choices at comparable restaurants.
The food was like the salsa: meh. The beans were bland and served without cheese; the rice was dry and had no vegetables. The chimichanga was crispy and cheesy and probably the best part of the meal. The other three items were unremarkable.
Would I recommend Javier's? Not really. I'm so sad to say it was...
Read moreThis dinner was something so sacred to me. I place my son for adoption over a year ago and met the family at this restaurant we had a wonderful intimate dinner. The Waitresses wonderful cleaning up my son's mess we made sure to give her a nice tip. If I find that waitress I want to thank her personally. She was a little short Hispanic girl very pretty I'm sure we tipped her well. But I want to thank her for letting us walk around when my son was cranky because he's not used to me even though there were other diners. I wanted to thank them for understanding not being judgemental and pulling me aside and telling me how selfless I am and what a wonderful thing I did for the family. They did not have to do that and it brought tears to my eyes. I highly recommend this place the food was great the dinner was intimate and the service was immaculate. I will be returning with the family next year and my son...
Read moreWe haven’t been here in 7 years, but really wanted to come back. Years ago I tried a frozen sangria drink and thought it was the most amazing drink ever. We went there for my bday today and got the most amazing service I think I ever had. I was so impressed, and the funny thing is that they didn’t even know it was my bday. I got asked many, many times if I needed more water, chips, salsa, and in general if everything was ok. We got table side Guacamole and they literally made it right next to the table on a cart. It was so cool! The food was really good too. We all got ours, but my husbands was late by maybe 3 mins. They were very apologetic, and honestly it wasn’t even slightly a big deal. A lot of restaurants do that! Anyway, the manager ended up giving us a decent discount for that and gave us a card for a free appetizer for the next time we come in. We will ALWAYS come back....
