Last week we went to burtons on my sister in law's recommendation. Well let's start with Maggie our server we were nine and from our welcome to our goodbye was perfectly attentive and everything was well done. She made our experience over the top excellent. Starting with starters the firecracker shrimp was a fantastic choice the tangy sweetness matched perfectly with the freshness and cooked just right. I shared it with my wife but after the first one wanted them all for myself. The bread is worth the price of admission some of the best of any place we have been hot and toasty. The three toppings once again pushed to to beyond olive tapenade, pesto and the creamiest butter I've ever had. Onto our mains I got the steak frites just right medium done side of broccoli. Buttery and soft yet firm. My wife got the seafood risotto she loved it others got the burger chicken Alfredo crab cakes and from what I saw and heard loved theirs too. Everyone pleased, not the easiest for a nine top. Now comes the show stopper the seven layer chocolate cake I highly recommend!!! I'm a bigger guy so I was able to handle it but splitting it wouldn't be a bad idea. Talk about death by chocolate just the right texture of cake and moose like filling. Had a choco sauce on top too. Rasberry sauce and whip cream to do for is an understatement. Best choco cake I've ever had, my wife got the key lime pie also generous portion and delicious I was able to grab a few bites from her plate. Did I mention Maggie our server having my ice tea covered. I can always tell service by how attentive the server is to my iced tea. Maggie made sure even though it was just iced tea and not a hard drink she still paid attention to me. Thanks for a wonderful experience. We all highly recommend burtons from walk in to walk out everyone including patrons were nice the place just projects welcome happy good...
Read moreWe started with their mocktail Paloma Pura—Agave, Lime & grapefruit soda—so delicious. We shared a Caesar salad and the spinach & artichoke dip as starters. For entrees we ordered the short rib grilled cheese w/ fries & the NY strip steak w/ sweet potato fries. All Perfection! There wasn’t a bite that wasn’t deeply enjoyed. We were already stuffed but really wanted to try their desserts. We were going to order a slice of chocolate cake and a slice of their seasonal blueberry cheesecake but our server highly recommended the key lime pie so we ordered that and the chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was very good. It came with a raspberry coolee, chocolate fudge drizzle & sprinkled with sea salt which were good but felt unnecessary—a bit overkill. I would get the cake again in the future but sans the salt and will ask for the coolee and fudge on the side. As for the key lime pie—honestly wish we had ordered two—it was the best we’ve ever had. It was creamy and lush and so refreshing at the end of the meal. I will dream about it! We went last night for our 11 year wedding anniversary and it was the best dining experience we’ve had in years. We’ve been excited to try them out(especially since I have food allerges) and they did not disappoint! The food & service were phenomenal—our server Fiona was absolutely lovely. It was a bustling Saturday night but our booth felt cozy and intimate and we were able to talk easily. The decor was beautiful and didn’t feel at all like a chain restaurant. We are looking forward to...
Read moreI was so excited to try this restaurant as a person with celiac and it did not disappoint! Got the cheesesteak egg rolls, firecracker shrimp, and lobster roll on a gluten free bun. The food was so delicious and I felt like the staff made a huge effort to ensure everything was gluten free - pretty much the entire menu is gluten free by default or can be made gluten free.
I went with my mom for lunch with a reservation, but there were still plenty of tables so we probably didn’t need one. Service was attentive and friendly, and our food came out incredibly fast, which I was appreciative of because I couldn’t stay for too long. If this had been a more leisurely lunch, I’d probably want things to come out a bit slower so we had time to chat and digest.
Most of the time, eating at restaurants just stresses me out and/or I feel extremely limited, but this was the first time in a long time that I felt like I had a “normal” dining experience, i.e. an extensive menu where I could eat anything I wanted. I mean, I haven’t had (good) egg rolls for over a decade! Additionally, gluten free alternatives often don’t taste very good and are an afterthought for the vast majority of restaurants, so it was lovely to dine somewhere that it seemed to be a priority.
Having a serious dietary restriction can be frustrating and even lonely sometimes, but eating here made me feel at ease. I will...
