Literally the best Italian takeout in Raleigh. I haven't had Italian food that I didn't make myself since relocating from NY. NY is home to so many authentic Italian restaurants and growing up in a predominantly Italian neighborhood with Italian friends, I can say my standards are pretty high. I decided to order delivery from Assaggio’s after reading all the positive reviews about the hot dishes. I didn't feel like going out for dinner so we had our Friday night feast at home. I ordered the lasagna that came with 2 garlic knots and a fresh salad. Everything was good however I expected more fresh seasoning on the lasagna. It also was not as meaty as I needed it to be. I also ordered a eggplant parmigiana hero. Very good but I was not a fan of the bread. It could have been softer. Lastly, the Tuxedo cake was perfection ! It's moist chocolate cake with a thick white ganache filling and dark chocolate fudge frosting. I need to know which bakery this is from ! I want my wedding cake made there. The presentation of the food was spot on. So I'm giving Assagio's a 4.

When I go to Raleigh, I see this restaurant from the light on the left. Otherwise, I forget because it's not typically in sight, therefore it's been on my mind to try for years. It hit my brain when we were in that specific area for an event. Entrée's come with 2 garlic knots and a salad. Garlic knots were delicious. The Ceasar salad was good too but not typical. It wasn't tossed with dressing like normal, it was drizzled on and you mix it. The homemade lasagna was second to mine... it was AMAZING and enough for 2 if you wanted to split. We also got the Gnocchi which was also delicious. I considered adding grilled chicken or sausage but didn't because we also had lasagna. If it had been my only Entree and we weren't sharing I would have added meat for protein. The best part is that everything was very cheesy which made me extremely happy since I LOVE cheese. We were too full for dessert. They do close earlier than the hours indicate. We were hanging out talking and realized they were closing about 9:00 versus 11:00 on the site and Google.

We came here with a friend that lives in the area. The service was decent, but I honestly did not catch my server’s name because they did not introduce themselves. The fork that came with my silverware was dirty, so I asked for a new one. Besides that, everything else was a nice experience. I ordered the chicken parmigiana which came with a side salad, and I chose the house italian dressing. The food was delicious! We got complimentary garlic knots, which were delicious. The side salad was good, and the dressing was flavorful. I got to choose what pasta came with my chicken, so I got penne. The penne was cooked al dente and the sauce it came with was good. I was able to put more parmesan on my meal since this is a pizza place, and they had a parmesan shaker. The chicken was crispy and tender. I really enjoyed the food here and would definitely come back.

We ordered food to go for the first time last night. The online ordering was very easy and user-friendly. They offer a wide variety of food besides pizza. We were in the mood for NY-style pizza last night with a few extras.

We ordered the 18" cheese pizza, mozzarella sticks, and garlic knots. The pizza was very good and so were the garlic knots. The mozzarella were not my favorite but I think they could be if they were warmer. (There was no "cheese pull" when you took a bite).

We ordered online and the original wait time texted to us was 7:17-7:32. That's a wide range for pickup. We placed the order at 7:02 pm. Almost immediately after the first text, we received a new time of 7:28-7:43. The slice app they use had a definite time of 7:38 pm for the food to be ready. We arrived around 7:38 pm and the food was warm, not hot/fresh out of the oven. I think the food had been ready and sitting for a while before our arrival. Given this issue, I think that's why the mozzarella sticks fell flat.

I do not want to take away from the food as it was good and we will be back. I think next time we may arrive a bit earlier, even if we have to wait for the food. If it were a bit fresher, it would be five stars across the board.

I would like to add that the garlic knots had a good amount of garlic on and around them. I hate when we order garlic knots and they arrive dry. The order was prepared correctly and the people working were nice. I will be back to try this place again and may order some of the...

Overall Rating (1-10): 1.0 Driving 25 minutes on a Saturday afternoon turned out to be regrettable. The anticipation was built up by the online menu and images, but the actual experience upon arrival immediately signaled that expectations would not be met.

Atmosphere (1-10): 3.0 Upon entry, the place seemed unusually quiet for a weekend, and the atmosphere was off-putting. The server, who appeared to be managing all tasks alone, didn't provide a welcoming reception, and there was an initial awkwardness as if unsure of being in the right place.

Service (1-10): 2.5 The option to choose seating was the only upside. However, the need to initiate interaction with the server and the subsequent presentation of a limited lunch menu added to the disappointment.

Menu Selection (1-10): 1.0 The half menu presented for lunch was a letdown, lacking the items that had been expected from the online preview. This resulted in an abrupt decision to leave without ordering.

Value (1-10): N/A Without dining, value cannot be assessed. However, the trip and time spent turned out to be a waste of resources, with the cost of gas adding to the day's...
