Azitra Quality & Service has gone down drastically. My last review rated Azitra at 5-star and now the updated review sits at 1-star. Here's a brief background.
We use to visit Azitra every 2-3 weeks ago. The food & the service was consistently good. We always looked forward to our experience at Azitra. However, the last two times we have visited Azitra, the food and the service have been exceptionally poor.
We recently went to Azitra for our anniversary. The host reception desk was cluttered with four restaurant staff that were busy chit-chatting amongst themselves even though saw us waiting to be seated. Next, as we were walking to our table I noticed that the ambience of the restaurant was no better than walking into a mom's & pops diner: the bar area seemed poorly maintained, several unoccupied tables had dirty dishes etc. stacked. Also, I noticed that the staff seemed new (since I didn't recognize anyone there). We had ordered Daal-Makni & Saag with Garlic Naan. The naan didn't taste freshly made (tasted like frozen naans that were heated). One of the naans was overcooked/overheated to the point it was brittle. Throughout our dining, no one came to us asking if we needed anything except during our last 2-3 minutes of dining. We complained and asked for the manager. The lady who came to talk to us apologized offered us a 15% discount (~$8) instead of offering. The better thing would have been to have not charged us for the naan at all. Our previous experience at this restaurant was not much different in terms of poor food quality and service.
Not sure if the management has changed, but for sure the staff is new and is not well trained in providing great service as was the case earlier.
Strongly recommend against going to Azitra for good dining experience. Instead, try Nazara Indian Bistro in Cary. Think of Nazara as the old Azitra restaurant where the food & service quality...

After a long day on the road, I was finally able to settle into what I can only describe as an oasis of incredible flavors—Azitra Indian Restaurant. From the moment I walked in, I was met with exceptional customer service, a warm and inviting atmosphere, and a dining experience that was nothing short of phenomenal.
The ambiance of this restaurant is elegant yet comfortable, creating the perfect setting to unwind and enjoy a meal. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making sure every detail of my visit was top-notch. And then, there was the food—simply out of this world! Every bite was an explosion of rich, bold flavors, with the perfect blend of spices that Indian cuisine is known for. The dishes were crafted with such authenticity and care that I could tell this was a restaurant that truly values its craft.
My only regret? That my daughter wasn’t with me! She and I share a love for Indian cuisine and enjoy discovering new, exotic restaurants together. Azitra would have been an absolute joy for us to experience together.
If you’re in the Brier Creek area or anywhere near Raleigh, do yourself a favor and dine at Azitra. Whether you’re a long-time fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, this restaurant will exceed your expectations. I can’t wait to return, and next time, I’ll be bringing my daughter along to share in this unforgettable experience!
Highly recommended—5 stars all the...
Read moreWe have been coming to Ajitra for 15 years and have seen ownership change a few times. We have always felt welcomed, but recently I've noticed that the staff is biased toward certain demographics, and I can understand why. The recent experience reinforced my feeling even more. Tonight, we went as a family for a dinner, and the server serving us completely ignored us. He neither refilled our water cups nor asked how is everything. He didn't care to ask what we wanted to drink and simply pushed us to order the main course. I asked if we could get two glasses of wine for my wife and me. He looked at me as if I were speaking in a different language. I noticed that the same server was extra attentive to the table next to us, where the diners were of different demographics. I can understand the biases but don't understand the poor service manners he had. At the end of the dinner, he handed down a check to us and didn't care to thank us or said anything like "we look forward to seeing you next time", or came back to collect the check. He simply disappeared, and some other server took the check and credit card from me. Not the experience you want to have when you're spending $200+ on dinner in a fancy place like Ajitra. I don't think we'd be coming to this place anymore, and will discourage our friends and family from going...
