Bruegger's Bagels — Restaurant in Raleigh

If I could give them no stars I would. I went in last week for breakfast on my way to work. My first time ever going there so I was unfamiliar with the layout. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to order at the register or at the counter first. A gentleman in front of me at the counter said he had already ordered so I’m waiting to be serviced looking at their menu. There were two white gentlemen in front on me fixing food. Neither of them ever looked up at me or acknowledged me. An older white lady walked up behind me and one of the white men ( older bald guy with a beige hat ) looked up at her and greeted her and was about to take her order. There was a black gentlemen also working there. He looked at me and asked if I had ordered yet. I said no and he looked at the guy and said “she was next” then the guy looks at me with an attitude and says “oh well I can take whoever is next” and throws his hands up. That was my first and last time ever going there and and being blatantly disrespected by an obvious racist....

Not a great experience. Where to start?

Ordered: bacon egg and cheese bagel and a coffee.

The Bad: first off Lexi was very rude and not helpful for two customers there for the first time. She was short and abrasive and seemed to be annoyed by our questions and lack of understanding that there were separate lines for food and coffee. this made our whole experience get off to a bad start. perhaps this was forshadowing to the quality of food we were about to get.

secondly, the coffee options were not only very limited, but the drip coffee they did offer was basically water and not very tasty.

thirdly, the bagel sandwich was not very good. it was dry, tough, and tasted like refrigeration. basically like something that had been stored frozen or in a fridge for a long time then just warmed up. honestly the coffe and the bagels are better at McDonalds and theyre cheaper.

The Good: the place was clean and the food came out fast, but maybe perhaps quality has been sacrificed...

I was in Raleigh a couple of weeks ago for a work trip and stopped by Bruegger's to get some coffee and a bagel. I absentmindedly left my credit card and driver's license behind and didn't realize it until I got to the airport later that day. I had another form of ID to get through security and made my way home. I called the next day to see if someone found my cards and thankfully, they did! I spoke with Heidi and she was super friendly and helpful. My cards arrived in the mail this week and I am so grateful I don't have to go to the trouble of getting a new driver's license. Heidi went above & beyond. Will definitely visit again when I am in...
