From February of 2018 to March of 2019, I lived down the street from this Domino's at Andover. There's nothing spectacular about where this store is; it's tucked away in a little strip mall between a beauty supply store and what's now a Curves (not sure, moved away before they opened).
The quality of the pizzas may be objectively the same you'd get with any other Domino's; I'd think that because my drive time was so short, the pizza always tasted "better" but one could make an argument that pizza is pizza and Domino's is Domino's, so don't get your hopes up, but do get your appetite up, what what, when you can carry out a large 3-topping for 8.65 including tax.
So why a seemingly out of place 5 star review for food that was never spectacular from a chain that that's in an otherwise forgettable part of N. Raleigh?
It's the way they made me feel as a person each time I walked in. See, that period of 13 months was ostensibly a real kick in the shins from life(everyone goes through these, so my story is neither better nor worse than anyone's). But week over week on Saturday (honestly, I probably came to this location about 30 - 35 times in that time span) between 4pm and 5pm, I'd stop in this location for maybe 2 minutes tops and feel normal, like I was just a normal guy stopping into a normal pizza place. Then I'd go home and eat like 6 slices and drink 3 PBRs, but that's showbiz, right?
About a month in, the regulars working on Saturdays started recognizing me, and would greet me by name as I walked in, and even in their busy moments, would smile and just ask how I was doing. I get that working in retail/hospitality and maybe moreso at a "fast food" chain isn't the most glorious of jobs, but not once did I ever see any of the staff have a bad attitude, and if they were having a bad day of their own, they never once let it show. Instead, they made me feel like for a few moments, that everything was ok.
I miss these guys, and I really hope that you all are doing well. I've tried to make friends with the Domino's team members in Apex and Morrisville, but for a number of reasons, it's just not the...
Read moreI ordered from this store, order #2074. The order stated on the tracker that it was delivered, but it was not. No one at the location answered the phone. After an hour, I drove to the store and my order was sitting there, having been overlooked and mistakenly marked as delivered, as I was advised by a delivery person behind the counter. The app said to ask for the manager KelliAnn, however she was too busy and refused to speak to me, yelled at the man at the counter to get another manager, (who never materialized) and yelled at him again while refusing to help him offer a receipt to prove my order was voided and I would not be charged. I am still not sure if I will be charged because she never bothered to assist me. The man at the counter was very kind and did his best to assist me, but unfortunately didn't seem to have the power to handle the situation and was trying to deliver other orders while also doing the manager's job, for which she was entirely ungrateful. KelliAnn stood 10 feet from me and my forgotten order on the shelf next to her the entire time I was in the store. She did not offer to refund my order, remake my order, give me my pizza's that were sitting right in front of her, or even apologize for the complete oversight of the delivery. The entire time I was in the store, I remained on hold while being assured someone would answer my call, but heard no phone ringing. I order from this store all them time, and I am disgusted at her behavior towards myself and the staff. A mistake is fine, it happens, but you apologize and try to make it right. When a person's order is overlooked and they have to come all the way to the store just to see if they are being charged for food they never received because no one will answer the phone, only to be treated as if they are an inconvenience - this kind of behavior...
Read moreI wanted to rate this at three stars but I kept it at four stars due to the order being correct and the wonderful delivery driver, Michael.
We ordered two pizzas and cheese bread yesterday at 4:18 pm. We watched the Domino's tracker the entire time (which can either be a good or bad thing, depending). Our order was at the "quality check" at 4:26 pm. We were waiting and waiting for it to update to out for delivery. It finally updated thirty minutes later at 4:56 pm that Michael left the store. We are 6 minutes (with traffic) from the store. We usually go and pick up pizzas but we wanted to try delivery this time. The actual time leaving the Domino's store was well after 5 pm and we didn't get our pizza delivered until exactly one hour later, 5:18 pm.
My husband had a work obligation at 5:30 and we wanted to eat dinner prior. We tried to eat as quickly as possible but it was upsetting when the pizza arrived COLD. Our pizza was ready at 4:26 pm and didn't leave the store for over thirty minutes after this. Our cheese bread was super burnt and we couldn't even enjoy it. The downfall to this is we had to wait and re-heat our dinner as the food wasn't even lukewarm when arrived.
I try to give the benefit of the doubt, especially with everything going on in the world, but the pizza wasn't even a hot temperature and took way too long for it to arrive. Michael, the delivery driver, did just as we asked with instructions and the food was in a hot bag. Imagine if it weren't in the hot bag!
About thirty minutes later, we received an email from Domino's apologizing for the delivery and that they let us down. We did not reach out about a complaint or anything, so this shows us that Domino's has standards, and they weren't met with our order. This isn't our typical pizza spot so we most likely will not use this...
