5 STARS! This brewery + restaurant is amazing. This was our second time coming (the first was during COVID when restaurant restrictions were slowly being lifted). Both visits were amazing but this review was for our visit last night (May 31 - Memorial Day).

We made a reservation in advance and thank goodness we did! This place was jamming! So many people came without a reservation and they truly did not have space for them/had to wait because they were all booked up! You have the choice to sit outside on the patio, inside, or in the sunroom. We chose the patio and it was so lovely. Our reservation was for 6pm (earliest they had open) but I see that they opened at 4. I would have preferred to come around 5 but there weren't any reservations on resy (we booked the week before).

We were seated at a nice table with a huge fan above - perfect for warm days! Our waiter Chris came right over to greet us and took the best care of us last night. My husband ended up getting Cloud Surfer Beer + Trophy Wife. I wanted to try a wine on tap but it seemed to have been out so I chose to get the Pinot Grigio by the glass. The food was also amazing. We both got something new that we did not try the previous visit. My husband got the small most outgoing pizza and I got the Detroit style cheese pizza. WOW! This Detroit pizza was sooo amazing but the only downfall is they ONLY serve it on Monday (sometimes Tuesday if they have some dough leftover). Also, we got there at six and ordered fairly quickly and by the time we ordered, there were only four Detroit-style pizzas left. Be cautious of this if you are wanting to try but arrive later! Overall, the vibe was really nice, Chris the waiter was outstanding, and the pizza was hands down delicious! The only flaw to point out is the website has an error with pricing. The pizza my husband got was $11 on the menu/website and our bill came and it was $12. Not that big of a deal but when people look at pricing for food it should match what they see on the menu!

PS - they did a TON of to-go orders while we were here. A tip if you are unable to get a reservation or walk in. They also have their beer to go!

Pros: Reservations available (a must IMO) Outstanding service Fabulous food Vibey Detroit style pizza

Cons: Very little parking Pricing error on the menu / different...

September 3, 2021 - Our daughter promised a good dinner at a “ CHILL place” in Raleigh. . . She delivered at Trophy Brewing & Pizza 🍕🍺 ! I rate the food & beverages and service a solid 4.70 at the Morgan Street location. We had a bit of a wait, but that’s a good sign of a busy establishment’s good food.

TROPHY Brewing Locations include:

*Trophy Brewing & Pizza - Morgan Street

*Trophy Brewing & Taproom - Waywood Str.

*State of Beer/Bottling - Hillborough Str.

*Trophy Tap & Table - S. Wilson ( closed)

Our daughter likes the original Trophy Restaurant, first opened in 2013 on Morgan Street by Woody Lockwood, Chris Powers, and David Meeker. I like trying brewpubs with a mix of inside/outside dining areas! There’s a bar area, lots of tables, some near the big beer holding tanks , with kegs stacked up for an authentic brewpub feel!

You might try reservations on Weekend nights, but the hostess found us visiting “Maine-ahs” a great table . . . as a former beer brewer, loved sitting in the keg room next to the beer tanks! As we looked over the menu, I ordered up the Happy Traveler ( Belgian Dubbel), my daughter tried the Cloud Suffer IPA , and a soda for my wife. We ordered 3 different homemade personal pizzas to share ! My “ go to” is the Margherita. . . tomato sauce, garlic EVOO ( extra virgin olive oil 🫒) fresh mozzarella, Roma tomato slices, basil . . . I add pepperoni & onions! My wife & daughter preferred more veggies on their pizzas, all were cooked perfectly! And Delicious!

Beers at Trophy Brewing, some rotating!

*Mort’s Trophy Lager - Pilsner *Trophy Wife - Saison IPA *Cloud Surfer - IPA *Trophy Husband - Witbier *Times of Trouble - IPA *Happy Traveler - Belgian Dubbel *Milky Way - Stout *Wolpendinger - Hefeweizen *Blueberry Loner - Berliner Weisse *Space Race - Wheat *Gathering of Eagles - Saison *Planet Killer - IPA

Thanks for a wonderful...

I completely agree with the people who call it some of the best beer in Raleigh. Frankly, it's one of the best breweries I've visited most anywhere.

Trophy's brewing & pizza location, with seven foeders, has a specific focus on sours and wild beers, and carries a lot of unique / experimental beers, in addition to a nice selection of IPAs, lagers/pilsners, and other classics; I was very excited to see the incredible list of unique brews in a time where the beer market has been dominated by hazy IPAs, and beer with the word "milkshake" in it. While there, I tried two styles I had never heard of: Norwegian Raw Ale, and Tart Gratzer (AKA Grodziskie), both of which were delicious.

Trophy has multiple locations - a blessing and a curse. I really like the model they've created where they're able to service their beer in a taproom, pizza bar, and restaurant, BUT I was a bit upset to find a beer or two I wanted to try at one location and not the others.

I did not try the pizza, but if it tastes as good as it smelled, I'm sure it's as worthy of the 5-star rating as the beer was.

My only major complaint is that I couldn't order a custom flight - there's one flight that rotates with four predetermined beers. I wanted to try (at least) four different beers, but because of my lightweightedness was only able to try two since I could only get the beers I wanted in full pints. I mean come on, I've been to college bars that offer custom flights.... Otherwise, exceptional beer, great service, great environment, and around dinnertime the place started hopping with people. Would recommend to anyone in or...

Overall Score: 4.3/10 – A brewery and pizza place with a large but uninspired interior, friendly staff, and disappointing menu execution. Atmosphere and Service: 4.5/10 – The space is large and fairly busy, but the interior is extremely basic, lacking any standout personality or culture. The outdoor seating area is a nice addition, and the extra room with open doors provides a refreshing option. However, the metal chairs create loud noise when moved, adding to an unpleasant environment. The server was friendly but offered only minimal service, handling basic tasks like refilling water and taking orders. The menu is only available online, which can be awkward to navigate and may frustrate those who prefer paper menus. Loaded Tater Tots: 4.6/10 – These tots were good but very basic, offering nothing special. The texture was disappointing as the tots were not crispy, turning them into mashed potatoes. The dish felt like something that could easily be made at home using frozen tots and cheese. For the price, this option did not feel like a good value. Cheese Pizza: 2.3/10 – This pizza was a major disappointment, especially given that pizza is the core focus of the restaurant. The flavor resembled that of a frozen pizza, with a thick, doughy base and minimal sauce. The menu’s size options were frustrating, only offering either a 9-inch or 18-inch, which felt limiting. A more typical 14–16-inch option would have been better suited. The price was also high for such a basic, underwhelming product.
