The following was a review I sent directly to heights house after our stay for which I received no response almost one month later. Heights house lost a referral source from me.
“Dear Heights House,
Chris and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Heights House this weekend, the location and amenities were exactly what we were looking for. The remodel and design of the property was absolutely gorgeous, the food served for breakfast was great, and the staff were always helpful and friendly if we needed anything.
The only negatives we took away from our experience were around assumptions of bad behavior towards us before anything ever occurred. First, when we mentioned wanting to take a few photos as a first look before our wedding we were told this would require an additional fee over $1,000.00. After explaining the small size of our event, the fee was reduced to $200, but this still felt like simply a "wedding tax". It also did not feel necessary to confirm several times that we would not be brining any vendors to the property. I had both my hair and makeup done offsite. The fact that it was confirmed multiple times did not make us feel very welcome. We understood this came from guests before creating a bad environment for your other guests, a more conversational tone or transparent pricing structure would have helped here.
The second occurred on our wedding day when an unsolicited email arrived prompting us not to provide food to people who weren't guests at the property, again we understand that you don't offer free meals to non guests. It was a weirdly worded message given that we had no intentions of ever even doing this. Given how great your property is, and the prices people are paying to stay there, it feels like something a Motel 6 might nag over but that you'd never want to assume of your guests.
Thanks again, and we really loved our stay there and only bring this up because it is what prevents us from giving a massive endorsement to any of our friends considering a local...
Read moreUpon our arrival on a vibrant Sunday, we were greeted by the lively atmosphere of the ongoing Pride party - a thrilling testament to the hotel's spirited community engagement. We also learned that the Heights House Hotel regularly hosts 'music on the lawn' events, adding a melodic touch to their repertoire of recreational offerings.
The check-in process was remarkably efficient and straightforward. Our room, the Honeymoon Suite, was a visual feast - a note to curious travelers, it's not exclusively for newlyweds, and we found it perfect for our girls-only getaway. The suite was an impressive blend of elegance and historical charm, showcasing the impeccable restoration of the hotel's architectural heritage.
Each corner of the hotel, including our suite, was a testament to luxurious comfort while maintaining an inviting ambiance. The suite featured a splendid clawfoot tub, a state-of-the-art shower, a double vanity, and a generously spaced bedroom equipped with blackout curtains. The fragrant soaps and lotions further enhanced the opulence of the room.
During our stay, we visited the quaint and stylish Parlor Bar for cocktails and appetizers. The creative genius behind the bar menu is Will Bryant, though on the night of our visit, it was Donnie skillfully shaking and stirring behind the counter. Under their combined talents, the cocktails, particularly the 'White Lotus' and 'Blanco Rosa’, were as smooth and delightful as one could wish for.
The hotel also offered a delightful "Breakfast in Bed" service. Requests for this or any other needs such as extra towels or wine glasses can be made through the user-friendly "Whistle" text feature. The meals were delivered promptly to our doorstep, adding a special touch to our mornings.
Our experience at the Heights House Hotel was absolutely enjoyable and we wholeheartedly recommend it to our friends and family. We eagerly look forward to our return to this charming,...
