Okay, so I'm relatively inexperienced with In-N-Out, so I'll break this down the best I can.
Price: The prices seemed reasonable, but not great. I'm not going to knock them in this current price climate for that.
Quality of Ingredients: I appreciate and respect that they use fresh ingredients and that they use real unfrozen actual beef without fillers. Their vegetables also seemed to be good quality.
Quality of Food Overall: This is a mixed bag. Overall our burgers were fairly good, but we all had the same complaint, the portion size of beef relative to other ingredients is too small. A cheeseburger has too little meat, even my Double Double was basically just a single Dave's at Wendy's at best (I'm not 100% even sure about that). Also, I'm curious. My wife said the fries were not as good as normal In-N-Out fries which she swears by. I thought they were a bit stale and they had a sort of old fry wrinkled texture to them. They kind of looked like McDonald's fries if I waited 1/2 hour to eat them but tasted more bland. None of us (we had 3 orders) were happy with the fries.
Service: The line was enormous, but it moved extremely quickly, far faster than a comparable line moves at other places. The service was great, the employees were vibrant and welcoming, people took the service seriously.
Vibe: I actually like the vibe of the place, it's very retro and cheerful.
I've had In-N-Out a few times, not often, and I don't remember the fries looking or tasting like that. At the same time after waiting behind no less than 20 cars I struggle to see how they could not be making them fresh unless they're simply making them a ton at a time.
Overall, it was okay. I've had better at In-N-Out before, but not by a giant margin. I got Wendy's yesterday and we got In-N-Out today, and my wife agrees that Wendy's has better burgers, but she doesn't like their fries either. I thought it was a bit disappointing. The food wasn't bad, but it could be much better. I wish they had an option for a bigger patty because even the Double Double lacks enough meat for me and I don't like the texture of the...

And, this may sound strange to those who aren't aware, but the same thing goes for their water.
(As in, you ask them for a cup of water and they give it to you. Not the water you'd find in the bathroom although I would not be surprised if it too had a "fountain of youth" taste to it as well.)

Their burgers are not only so delicious that you will feel horrible because of the beautiful treasure you'd of deprived the rest of the world of by devouring it, but it is the comparatively healthy option compared to other similar places ( I can't fully back this up because I'm lazy. but I'm willing to bet that if you google the nutrition facts and compare them to other burger chains/restaurants, you'll will find that they are AT LEAST marginally healthier than most if not all other places.)
True In-N-Out Story That Happened To Me:
My Uncle married a woman who immigrated to the United States from an African Country, I don't remember which, but I know it wasn't South African or anything "fancy" like that. We all started to get hungry and began looking for a place to eat. We eventually spotted an In-N-Out, and everyone aside from my Aunt-in-law were visibly elated, which prompted her to ask "What is In-N-Out? What's so great about it?" Our glee turned to shock after learning she had never tried it before... Long story short: She ended up ordering 3 burgers in total by the end of it. And I think she may even be a bigger fan of In-N-Out...

There is no vegetarian sandwich choice. Staff isn't even trained to quickly provide vegetarian options. So if with a group that has a vegetarian, Subway, Togos, or even Burger King have mushrooms and veggie patties to make veggie sandwiches.
Because everything is fresh, expect to wait 10 minutes for your order to be cooked, add 5 minutes for cooking if they are busy, and another 5 to 10 minutes for waiting in line at lunch. So call your order in 10 minutes before you arrive, so you have time to eat.
There are typically not enough tables for everyone to sit separately during lunch. Use of the Friendship Triangle shared seating protocol is recommended. Simply place a napkin intentionally folded into a triangle at the end of the table if you do not mind sharing the empty seats of your table. Protocol requires a new person to ask permission to sit, as another seated person may just be going to the counter to get their food and will be back in a minute.
There is some outside seating.
The name "In n Out" does not represent company fast service, it seems to represent inadequate seating and the customer requirement to leave after getting your food; in and out.
I only eat at In n Out during non-peak hours. I get an occasional craving for their unpublished "Animal Fries". Ask about them at the...
