The Good: Big win. I don't know about the rest of the country but in California it's become the norm to serve an omelet that isn't an omelet. Instead of having egg folder over the fillings, they scramble the meat and vegetables in with the eggs. Dennys still makes them the way they should be. I love a diner that leaves a coffee pot on the table to serve yourself. The meat in my Philly cheese steak omelet was tender and delicious. The gluten free muffin was tasty. Our server was friendly. This is a new place that's clean and comfortable.
Not so Good: While the meat in my omelet was delicious. The rest left much to be desired. Bland and a little watery. It's 2024 and the only cream option is is regular creamer? No soy, oat, etc? Come on, Dennys. It's 2024 and the only gluten free alternative is is an English muffin? No GF pancakes or waffles? Come on, Dennys. Our server was friendly but not attentative. After dropping off our food, he never came back until he brought our check. He wasn't busy and chatted a while with a friend. The person behind the register greeting you in sloppy clothes, chewing their gum with their mouth open and smacking it is not a good impression. The prices. The prices aren't bad compared to other restaurants. They're the same. Given the quality, why should I go?
In the end, we won't avoid Dennys. It's decent. But like today, it will be a last resort when others are too busy or closed. I would have given them three stars but hey, it's Dennys. Your expectations shouldn't be high...
Read moreNormally when I go to this Denny's I'm happy. Today I was not. My son and I went there to eat hoping for a peaceful breakfast. When we got there it was fine. We get seated and they're playing loud music in the back area where they prepare the food, which is where we receive it next to. I asked a waitress could they turn it off, she actually have the audacity to tell me we can turn it down but not off. This is totally unprofessional and offensive. What kind of customer service is this?. This is not what I deem to be a good dining experience.
So we had to ask could we be moved. Our server was gracious as was the host at the front, trying to get us moved. Our server was excellent we had absolutely no problems with him. Then right before they move us after they had turned down the music, somebody went and turned it back up. Then we could moved and we can still hear the music from where we are. Finally I just had to ask for the manager. She was gracious about turning the music off and she even gave us a complimentary meal. However she did not apologize for the experience which would have made this a little better.
I don't understand how people don't know that only certain types of music are appropriate in a store or restaurant. And loud music of the music choice was just not appropriate to me. To me you play classical music and you play it low. I actually got a headache while I was in the restaurant.
Completely ruined my dining experience and I will not be going back to...
Read moreI had some reservations about going to Denny's because it's a hit and miss with them. This location is a miss. It was close so I chose to go. I should have followed my first thought and gone to ihop. I sat at the counter since I was alone and I figured I would be served sooner. It took the server almost ten minutes to notice I was ready to order because she was too busy chatting with her co-workers. She didn't even offer a cup of coffee. Now I'm not real critical of servers because I use to serve,(not at Denny's). If anything, I'm very patient and understanding. So much so my friends think I'm too forgiving. The server finally took my order and brought me a cup of coffee. No silverware. Later the food arrived. She didn't offer to refill my cup and I had to ask. When she did refill my cup, the coffee was Luke warm. I started eating my pancakes first and low and behold, they were cold. The server never returned to ask if I needed anything until I flagged her down and asked for the check. The pancake syrup was in a bottle so sticky you didn't want to touch it. The counter where the servers pick up the food and add the condiments was so dirty that one of the servers made a comment about it. As usual for most Denny's, the bathroom was filthy. As a matter of fact, the restaurant is...
