My group and I have done 100+ escape rooms together. We did two rooms here today and they were falling apart. Kitchen Nightmare really was a nightmare. We started 20 minutes late even after showing up 10 minutes early. One of the puzzles was missing and the other completely broken. When we asked about the broken puzzle and the possibility of it being broken, we were then spoken down to until the game master went in the room and continued to patronize us until we showed him multiple times and suddenly he went, "Huh. Guess it is broken. It's never done that before." Never gave us back our time and also did not pause our time when they came in. The puzzle after that was also missing pieces but we still figured it out. We ended up completing the room with extra time but felt completely ripped off and irritated. Once we got back to our car they sent us another group's photo instead of our own. 10/10 most ridiculous escape room we've ever been to.
Edit: The owner reached out to us and tried his best to make up for our previous experience. We ended up finishing all of the rooms at the location solely because our game master, Brandon, was just so awesome. A good game master really makes a difference and he was too awesome and cool. Any escape room would be lucky to have him and he's the reason I'm updating this review. We even asked Brandon to let us know if they end up making more rooms in the future. The remaining rooms were also pretty cool, the tech/spaceship based room wasn't really my taste but it wasn't bad at all, actually pretty cool how they set it up, just not for me is all. @Brandon, if you're reading this, stay...
Read moreOur group visited a month or so ago. We usually love Unity, so much in fact that my friends got engaged in one of their rooms. That being said the Pharoah room here is broken. We have done over 50 rooms and this was the first time we have had something so wrong with one of the puzzles. (Minor spoilers) There is an item in the room that freely moves and if you've ever done any escape room and encountered this type of item you know to move it, so that's exactly what we did. We struggled for over 15 mins trying to find a starting point for it so we finally gave up and asked for a clue. The game master told us "oh you aren't supposed to move it" first off if it's not supposed to be moved then glue it down! We asked him later on how we were supposed to know not to move it and he said "oh if you move it you HAVE to ask for a clue". That's a BIG no no in escape rooms. We pride ourselves on trying our best not to ask for clues. You make a puzzle that if touched or gets bumped being passed along to another player then you have to ask for a clue? That's extremely broken. We were having such a great time, the immersion was great until that point then it was just completely broken. Our group was so disappointed that we have avoided coming to check out the other rooms. It's just really disappointing, especially when it's from a company you like.
Tldr; if your group is ok asking for hints from something that shouldn't require it then you're fine. If you are avid escape goers then you might find frustration in this room.
I really hope this can be fixed so we can give them a...
Read moreI have done 30+ escape rooms and sorry to say that this is probably the worst one I have done. In my experience, not much work and time was put into the design of the room, clues were strictly linear and had little depth with having to do with the story line. Not much thought was needed to figure out the clues and did not encourage much teamwork and most of the clues logically made no sense. If you would consider yourself as an escape room enthusiast and take the rooms seriously, I would strongly advice against this company. Honestly I have only done one room with Unity Escape Rooms but am not willing to try another room with this company to change my thoughts of my first experience with them. Though we did complete the room without hints and with time to spare, the level of difficulty and depth did not compare to previous rooms we had completed. When attempting to complete a puzzle, if the puzzle was not completed within a few minutes, staff tried to give hints, without us asking, and got sassy when we chose not to take the hints. I was also not pleased with the staff; the staff member that was our “game master” had never done an escape room before, and the intro video was difficult to understand what was being said, audio was cutting in and out and did not allow you to feel immersed into the story. I hate to write a bad review but would like to advise those who take escape rooms seriously that this might not be the right...
