I’ve dined at over 100 restaurants during my time as a human being who eats things and enjoys experiencing new locations and dishes, and I’m being 100% dead serious when I tell you that ordering chicken Marsala at this location is the only time in my life I have ever had to send a dish back. Usually this is the nuclear option. 100% unironically, I never do this. Never. Until now.
I say that so that you’ll believe me when I tell you I’m not one of these temperamental or crazy people who see a single hair in the vicinity of their plate and freak out. That’s not me. I’ve picked hair out of my plate and continued eating probably three times in my life at different restaurants.
At this place however, I sent a plate back.
Let me just give you the whole picture. I arrived with a large party. When you have a large party, restaurants react in one of two ways. Either A) they are extremely annoyed and sequester you off in the furthest most remote corner they can find and try to forget about you, and they assign the most junior waiter to deal with you, or B) they treat you like royalty knowing that whoever waits on you is in for a huge bounty of tips.
At this location, they choose option A. So, off to a bad start already. It takes ages to progress through each stage of the ordering process. Get seated, wait ten minutes. Order drinks, wait ten minutes. Order food, wait twenty five minutes.
Then in some strange twist of fate, as if God had foreseen the uncooked state of my chicken, they brought out everyone’s entree except for mine. I then have to wait an additional ten minutes for the waiter to come back to ask him if my entree is coming out. He says that it may have just been left where they collect the plates and he’d check.
Keep in mind, this whole time I’m cool. I’m a very easy going and conflict averse person. I don’t even mind having watched everyone else eat while I wait for the waiter to come back.
When my chicken comes out, I’m very happy and excitedly cut a piece off and bite into it.
It is then that I discover the chicken has the consistency of rubber. I figure that it may just be the side that I cut, so I cut the chicken down the middle and take a piece from there. It’s even worse, nearly unchewable. Someone at the table asks me how it is, and I respond that it’s terrible. I cut a piece and give it to my wife to confirm I’m not crazy. She’s the same as me, never sent anything back, very polite and averse to conflict. She responds that she can’t even chew it. So I wait an additional ten minutes for the waiter to come back and I inform him that, bar none, this is the most terrible chicken I have ever been served at a restaurant.
Dead serious, I get better service and better food, better chicken Marsala, at Olive Garden. Seriously.
I tell him to please take it back, and to remove it from the bill. He asks if I want a different entree, and I tell him no.
A manager comes over and asks if there’s anything else I want, and I inform him as well that I do not intend to order anything else from them.
I already got my entree so late compared to everyone else at the party, and now you people think I’m going to subject everyone else to an extra half hour at the restaurant while they wait for me to get my food and eat it after they’ve already finished tens of minutes prior?
That’s just unreasonable, seriously. I didn’t say all that, that should be self evident.
This experience has soured me on this restaurant and there is zero chance I will be...
Read moreI went for my nieces birthday lunch, however it turned out to be dinner. If you have a good appetite Do Not Eat eat at the Old Spaghetti Factory. Because they serve mostly pasta dishes and not much else. If you order a specific pasta and want a certain meat like chicken or fish on it; you will still be hungry when you leave! They give you a big plate with very small portions. If you want to satisfiy your hunger ask for more bread because that's free with your meal. The service, the waitress is very slow. Our waitress that day was very rude to my nephew and to me. She slammed my nephews plate on the table because SHE brought the wrong pasta dish to him and he told her nicely that he did not order that pasta dish. I saw and heard the loud noise the plate made when she threw it on the table! I quickly responded and asked her " why did you slam the plate"? She then said responded and said "excuse me" in a very sarcastic manner. She spoiled my nieces birthday because everyone else started complaining about her service. However the manager heard the commotion and quickly came to save the event by giving us a different waitress who was kind and joyful to serve us. He also did charge my nephews food in order to compensate for the rudeness of the waitress. So, do not go to this place if your real hungry! Also it's pretty expensive. Because the amount of food you actually get looks like it's only an appetizer. Even though I ate dinner, I was still hungry...
Read moreI had a somewhat okay experience here. My only tip is to check your food when you receive it! I've been coming to this particular location for a long time now and just last night I wanted to celebrate a nice dinner with my boyfriend. I always get the spinach tortellini, I've had this plate so many time but just last night, after eating almost 3/4 of the plate, there was a piece of acrlyicplastic inside the tortellini! It scrape the roof of my tongue which caused bleeding. This completely freaked me out and had me applying pressure on the cut inside the restroom for over a minute, the host and manager were attentive about the whole situation and asked me a few questions regarding the incident. I'm not the type of person to cause a scene but since I always get this dish it was a huge turn off knowing that this could be in anyone's plate! Lucky they didn't give this plate to a mother sharing this plate with a child or infant, an elderly person or a child. The manager was understanding and is keeping my information for a follow-up conversation, but again for your own safety, check your food! My boyfriend and I kept the piece of plastic! I'm definitely going to get a check up with my doctor to ensure that there isn't anything wrong, I gave this review three stars because the management was understanding of this situation, but I don't think I'll be eating here...
