I have never been treated so poorly by a restaurant in my life. We had a friend visiting from Iowa and wanted to try one of the new Victoria Gardens restaurants. I called in to make an order for pick up and they told me that they do not take orders over the phone and that I needed to go to their website to make an order which was fine. I went online and ordered 2x Garlic Truffle Ramen and 1x Edamame through their website which is processed through doordash (relevant later).
When I arrived they had my order "ready" but we didn't realize until we arrived at our house that they only gave us one order of the ramen and we were missing the other ramen and our edamame. I tried calling back three times to let them know but nobody would answer so I drove back (a 40 minute round trip drive) and walked in and told them the situation. The woman working the front said "I packed that order and I definitely remember packing two ramen" my friend then noted that she very well may have packed two but given us the wrong order. She then said "well, its kind of my word against yours isn't it". I then asked what we could do to remedy the situation and she said "I cant do anything without proof" How I could prove that she didn't give me my food I don't know but she wanted proof. After that I just decided it wasn't worth talking to this employee and I didn't want to eat here anymore so I decided to take it up with doordash to get my money back. We then left to go eat somewhere else, out $50 for one bowl of Ramen.
I was still pretty mad so I decided to go back and talk to a manager if there was one on duty but they said there was no manager there so I talked to someone who I am assuming was a supervisor of sorts. I explained the situation to them and they said "I trust what you're saying but I have to side with my employee" again denying me of the food I paid for and never received they then said "Did you order through doordash or our website" and I said "Your website processes all orders through doordash automatically when you hit the order button" and then said "That's not true" even though it is very much true, again insinuating that I am a liar. The supervisor gave me an email to reach management and said "Maybe you can reach out to them to remedy this and get a gift card or something" to which I replied "I don't want a refund or a gift card or anything I just want the food that I paid for" they then replied "We cant help you with that here" which is a pretty wild thing to say considering as a restaurant your sole purpose is to provide people with food.
Anyways, beware of this place as they are wildly incompetent and will...
Read moreThe place was packed at 4PM on a Sunday and after dining here, it’s easy to see why.
We ordered nearly every appetizer on the menu to start: chicken karaage, broccolini, gyoza, pork buns, and crispy tuna rice.
The karaage was perfectly fried with a light crispy batter, the gyoza had a nice brown crust with a juicy meat filling. The broccolini was an unexpected hit - crispy, crunchy, and drizzled with a light cream sesame sauce.
The appetizers alone would warrant a visit here.
For the mains, we had the Shoyu ramen with perfectly al dente noodles in a flavorful broth filled with bamboo shoots, chicken slices, a flame-grilled pepper, spinach, and corn (which we added as an extra). Not a “traditional” bowl of ramen by any means, but delicious in its own right.
We also split a Soboro bowl that came with ground chicken, eggs, pickled ginger, and a sweet soy-based sauce over rice. Simple, hearty, and tasty.
Overall, very satisfied with the experience. In addition to the food, I was impressed with the quick and attentive service despite the packed house. If you’re looking for a good meal in the area, I highly recommend stopping by...
Read moreWe have been going to the location in Silverlake for at least 7 years. We would make trips just to go eat there and drive all the way back home a hour and a half. So we were so excited to know the Rancho Cucamonga location was opening up. And when it opened we were disappointed. But we thought ok maybe it’s because it’s a new location we will give it some time but no every time we order something is missing or messed up. We have called and complained so many times. They even run out of items! The manager can’t seem to get it down on how much to order to make it through a busy weekend. We left out of town for a month and we came home and decided to give it one more try as soon as they opened right at opening hour that way they don’t have to be rushed we placed a Togo order and again we not only had missing food we had missing ingredients from the ramen. I hope they can get this location to where they have the Silverlake location because that location is AMAZING and we will always love that location and their people there. You ever get a chance go there and you will see what I’m...
