Food here is really quality and fresh. It’s not my favorite Mexican food here in the Coachella Valley but it’s definitely worth taking the time to write a stellar review. The portions are very large for the prices, the food is fresh, fresh, fresh and authentic, maybe a little whitewashed, but considering their demographics and location it’s understandable. The chips are excellent. Their service though, is impeccable and the actual restaurant is extremely clean! Their happy hour beer deals are not to be slept on. . . They have a great local brewer on tap (La Quinta Brewing Co) and at $4 bucks a pop (lowest I have ever seen this particular item) during happy hour it’s an absolute steal. You can’t get a shitty Bud light for that price at most places or even a Mexican import here you are getting a top quality, DELICIOUS, local, craft brew. You can tell the brothers take great pride and care in what they do and in making great, fresh, food, with an extra effort put towards presentation, plating, creativity and providing outstanding service with the experience. There isn’t a ton of options for really really good Mexican food in Rancho Mirage and Palm Desert. I can without a doubt say you only have 3 other decent options for really good Mexican food in the RM/PD/thousand palms area and it’s El Rodeo, San Miguel’s and Fresh Agave. El Rodeo has excellent food but ambiance and service 🤷🏼♀️. San Miguel’s again excellent food but service and ambience 🤷🏼♀️. Fresh Agave has a great atmosphere and location but the food is so/so considering the pricing and the restaurant isn’t nearly as clean. This place is definitely on par with all and considering you’d have to go out of your way to get to San Miguel’s. I’d drop in here if I was short on time or had family in town and wanted to go somewhere a lil nicer, any day. I expected a generic Las Casuelas style meal, your basic run of the meal Mexican American food with too much cheese and too much grease & not enough authenticity and freshness, but on a short lunch break where a cold beer was a necessity if I was gonna make it through the rest of the day this place was a welcomed surprise & something to write home about. Will definitely keep coming back and recommend over and over again. Would be AMAZING if this family could open a location closer to the 111 and not in a shopping plaza. They’d blow every one of their “competitors” away if they did. I’m gonna keep supporting them until that day comes. This review is already long but one thing that really impressed me was getting a fresh glass with every pour of the beer I had on tap. It’s a small thing, it’s easily overlooked as I was sitting right there at the bar but a lot of places will just refill the previous glass considering. I noticed. It was...
Read morethe two stars are only for the kind staff and the somewhat attentive service. the food on the other hand, sucks. ordered the steak fajitas and the combo with the relleno, enchilada, and carnitas taco. let’s start with the the fajitas. the dish consisted of 75% onions and only 7 slices of gristley and fatty meat. I could have worked a four hour shift within the time it took to chew a piece of carne asada. the skillet was filled with liquid and grease. it was completely unsalted and unseasoned. The taco was even worse. When I picked it up to take a bite, a pool of grease poured out of the item. If a mexican restaurant decided to waterboard a taco, this is what it would look like. The enchilada was decent, expect for the fact that I ordered a BEEF enchilada and instead received a cheese. chips are stale and salsa was watery. I don’t understand this restaurants obsession with drenching their dishes with water. The cherry on top was the bill, which nearly equated to 100$. In conclusion, I would encourage anyone to stray far, FAR away from this...
