I recently stopped by Juice Time and Papa Kanafa to try their much-hyped Dubai Chocolate Strawberry, Dubai Brownie, and Dubai Bar Chocolate, but I left feeling let down. The Dubai Chocolate Strawberry was a major disappointment—mediocre at best. The strawberries themselves were nothing special, and the pistachio flavor was practically nonexistent. The texture was off too; it was way too liquidy, and the chocolate coating didn’t help. It wasn’t rich or indulgent like you’d expect from something marketed as a premium treat—just bland and forgettable. The Dubai Brownie was another letdown. We’d tried it here about two months ago and loved it, but this time it was completely different. Either they’ve changed the recipe, or the quality has taken a nosedive to keep up with the demand. It didn’t have that same fudgy, satisfying taste—it felt rushed and cheap. The Dubai Bar Chocolate wasn’t much better; it lacked depth and didn’t live up to the hype. Honestly, it’s frustrating. It feels like they’re cutting corners now just to churn out more product and cash in, rather than delivering something worth the price. If you’re just after our money, at least make it taste like it’s worth it. I expected a treat, not a watered-down disappointment. Is it worth waiting in line? Nope. Is it worth $16-20? Definitely not, especially the quality they deliver.

Me and some friends had dinner near by. They wanted desert and one of them knew about this place two doors down. We walked over and we're surprised how big the place was and the amount of selection of what you could get. The ambiance of the place was cool and there is a photo op inside that most people will love. The tvs with the menu tend to go by fast, so I recommend grabbing a physical menu next to the register. After we took a look at the menu. We purchased a pastatio floaty, a small pastatio ice cream and the viral chocolate with pastatio filling. I know 1 know it's a lot of pastatio, but my friend was just talking non stop about pastatio and we all got in the mood. We all made a good choice. The ice cream was probably the creamiest I've had and the pastatio sauce they put on it complemented the ice cream very well. The floaty was a shake with the same pastatio ice cream on top. The chocolate was very tasty and would highly recommend, which was the most expensive thing we paid for. The place was clean. The staff was super friendly and patient with us. We will definitely be dropping by sometime soon to try more, we saw they also offered crapes.

From the moment you walk into Juice Time & Papa Kanafa, you’re greeted with a vibrant, modern space that blends Middle Eastern charm with a trendy California vibe. The atmosphere is clean, cozy, and perfect for casual hangouts or even a dessert date. Their kunafa is truly standout crispy, gooey, and generously filled. Whether you go for the classic cheese version or the creative Lotus twist, each bite is rich and satisfying. As for drinks, the **Einstein smoothie** and **lemon mint juice** are favorites. Fresh, cooling, and beautifully presented. The menu also includes fun creations like Dubai-style chocolate bars, waffles, and mini pancakes, giving you plenty of delicious options. Staff are friendly and the service is quick. Whether you're from the Middle East or just exploring new flavors, this place delivers a sweet experience with authenticity and flair. Definitely one of the best dessert spots in San Diego!

Sharing this on behalf of someone who posted to a local page. Y'all should do better.

I usually don't go out of my way to talk about an establishment like this, but the level of disrespect I experienced today at Juice Time and Papa Kanafa was completely unacceptable and absolutely infuriating.

I placed a simple order — strawberries for myself and a milkshake for my son. I waited. And waited. And waited. Meanwhile, I watched multiple people who ordered after me get served before me. I tried to stay patient, but after nearly 30 minutes, I finally went to the counter to ask what was going on.

The woman at the register had the audacity to tell me I’d only been waiting 10 minutes — which was absolutely false — and acted like I was the problem for even asking. Then she calls over a man, apparently the manager or whoever he thinks he is, and that’s when things got worse.

He looks confused, checks the system, and says, “Oh, we just got your order. It’ll be 4 more minutes.” Already annoyed but trying to stay calm, I said fine. Proceeds to say oh it’s a system error . But then — he starts questioning my receipt. “This is an old ticket,” he says. “Where’s your actual ticket?”

Excuse me? You're now accusing me of trying to scam you? I pointed to the girl who took my order and even pulled up my phone to show him I got a text confirming my points — meaning the order went through at 7:20. But instead of apologizing, he doubles down and starts laughing at me. Literally laughing. In my face. In front of my child. Then he says, “So what was your order again?” “Do you not know your order?”with this smug attitude like I’m just making things up.

At this point, I was beyond pissed off. Not only was I being gaslit, but I was being mocked, humiliated, and treated like a liar — all while my son was standing right there, watching. I told him what I ordered, and he throws the shake on the counter with a laugh like it’s some kind of joke.

Let me be crystal clear: I don’t scam businesses. I don’t try to get free stuff. I work hard for my money for me to be able to go out and buy stuff here and there (food, etc) for me and my kids. If something’s wrong with an order, specially if it’s my food and not my kids most days I let it go because I don’t have time for drama. But today? Hell no , not letting it slide You disrespected me, insulted my integrity (which you should never do) , and embarrassed me in front of my child. That’s where I draw the line.

To the man who “handled” this situation — you should be ashamed of yourself. You don’t get to talk down to customers, mock them, or make them feel small just because you don’t know how to run a system or own up to a mistake. Once your own employee confirmed my order, that should’ve been the end of it. Or you could’ve said im sorry for the wait, what was your order. But you made it worse, over and over again. For you to question your customers over and over to prove to you, that she did in fact purchased something. Is ridiculously , i get once , but over 6 times?

Do better. Seriously. Juice time & papakanafa...

I am writing to formally report an extremely disappointing and disrespectful experience I had at your establishment, Juice Time and Papa Kanafa, which took place on April 22, 2025 @ 7:20 I placed an order for strawberries for myself and a milkshake for my son. After nearly 30 minutes of waiting--while watching customers who ordered after me receive their items-I went to inquire about the delay. To my shock, the woman at the counter dismissed my concern, claiming I had only been waiting for 10 minutes. She then called over a man--apparently a manager or supervisor--who began checking the system. He initially stated that the system had "just received" my order and asked me to wait 4 more minutes. I was frustrated, but agreed. However, the situation quickly escalated into something much more upsetting. He began questioning the validity of my receipt, claiming it was "old" and repeatedly asked for a "real" ticket. I pointed out the staff member who took my order and even showed him the points confirmation text I received after the purchase. Instead of accepting that, he smirked, laughed, and implied I was trying to scam the store. Let me be clear: I do not scam establishments. I don't go around trying to get free items. In fact, I'm the type of person who usually lets mistakes slide because I don't want to cause a scene. But being humiliated in front of other customers--and worse, my child--was something I will not tolerate. My son even turned to me afterwards and asked, "We did pay, right?" That alone should tell you the lasting impression this left on both of us. The way your staff member handled this situation--mocking me, gaslighting me, and ultimately tossing the milkshake onto the counter while laughing--was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Once your cashier confirmed my order, that should have been the end of it. Instead, I was treated with suspicion and blatant disrespect. I expect a response from management regarding this matter, as well as appropriate corrective action to ensure no other customer is ever treated...

I am writing to express my heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional experience I had at [Juice Time]. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for a truly memorable dining experience.

The selection of juices was outstanding, featuring a diverse range of fresh and vibrant options that catered to every taste. Each juice I tried was bursting with flavor and clearly made from high-quality, fresh ingredients. It’s rare to find a place that offers such a perfect blend of health and taste in every glass.

However, it was the kunafa that truly stole the show. The perfect balance of sweetness, texture, and flavor was nothing short of perfection. The kunafa at your restaurant is a testament to the skill and passion that goes into its preparation. It was undoubtedly the best I’ve ever had, and each bite was a delightful experience.

The service was also exemplary. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Their recommendations were spot-on, and they made sure that every aspect of our visit was enjoyable.

In addition to the delicious food and drinks, I appreciated the cleanliness and ambiance of the restaurant. It’s clear that great care is taken to ensure that every guest has a comfortable and pleasant dining experience.

Thank you for providing such a wonderful place for people to enjoy. I will certainly be returning and will recommend [Juice Time] to friends and family without hesitation. Your dedication to quality and customer satisfaction is truly...
