This place is an absolute hidden gem! I usually don't write reviews, but this place is so good, i felt i had to write one for the Corner Bistro.
I went there last week for sunday brunch, which was absolutely delicious! The best omelette I have ever had. The entire staff was extremely attentive and friendly. After brunch, i vowed to come back and try dinner. Which leads me to this review:
We went for dinner tonight as I was very eager to try the dinner menu after such a delicious brunch the prior week. I have to say, everything about tonights dinner was perfect! Everything from the food, to the service, to the decor (if that matters to some people) was perfect!
1,) Food:
For appetizer, we ordered the burrata mozzarella which absolutely delicious. It came with ripe tomatoes and a balsamic glaze; excellent appetizer and presentation.
They also gave us complimentary bruschetta which was some of the best I have ever had; and i am one who knows his bruschetta as its my favorite italian appetizer.
For dinner, I ordered the Fettucini special which came with baby shrimp and black mussels in a lemon white wine sauce, and it was absolutely phenomenal! There was about 2 dozen fresh black mussels that surrounded the dish, and in the middle was the freshest pasta i ever had tasted topped with a more than generous portion of baby shrimp.
For dessert we had there signature dessert called Coffee Serferro (not sure on the spelling). It was an absolute perfect ending to a perfect meal.
2.) Service:
Our waiter was Harold who turned out to be the owner as well and is one of the nicest and most genuine people you will ever meet. The entire night, he was very attentive not only to my table, but to all the customers as well. There was another waiter there named Wadi, who was also extremely attentive and very pleasant to talk with.
conclusion:
Like I mentioned earlier, I do not write reviews, however this place is so good, it deserves 6 starts out of 5. Everything from the service, to the food was outstanding. To say we will return again is an understatement, I have found my go-to restaurant when in the Randolph area. If you want excellent food and superior service, then you owe it to yourself to check this place out. I guarantee you will not be...
Read moreFelt the need to address the fake review posted by the restaurant in response to our negative one (Daniel Bernal just below- who could be an overseas family member of the staff or staff directly. Either way, their very first US based review was posted last night and coincidentally included reference to our situation).
This review by D. Bernal (we did attempt to speak to someone prior to leaving so they knew a review was coming as well) contains inaccuracies and an attack on our personal character. This post was made in response to our feedback about the restaurant being unwelcoming to children. Setting the stage again, there were 3 tables occupied last night (6 other people, not D. Bernal based upon his profile picture, we saw the other 6 diners).
Under ours and only our supervision, our children were looking and giggling at the water fountain display, obviously intrigued by it. Mind you this was away from the other 3 tables and directly in front of ours. We were all up and about to take birthday pictures in front of the fountain at times so everyone was quite well supervised, just excited laughter to which you expect chatting and laughing at a restaurant, especially one allowing children.
To create a false review and insinuate that we “left” our kids to be nannied by the staff and are “irresponsible parents” as stated is wildly inaccurate, not to mention an uncalled attack on us personally.
Would first encourage restaurant staff to not attempt fake reviews that attack the personal character of your guests. Would then suggest mgmt to either remove the kids menu or revisit your policies and rethink what proper treatment of your paying guests with younger children would be.
Will not return and would discourage anyone with children from...
Read moreThe food was amazing. We had the sushi pizza, the French onion soup, and the chicken scarparelli. The service on the other hand was subpar.
They were slow to take our order, seemed disinterested in our table in general, and spent much more time with the other customers, including a party of some kind. We were the only table when we arrived and there were only two other tables and party by the time we left. With three servers on I expected a little bit more.
Also, I asked if the French onion soup was vegetarian, as most are made with beef or chicken stock. The server told me it was so I ordered that as an appetizer. Then I ordered the portabello mushroom burger thinking the mushroom was a substitute for the beef patty. I didn't think to double check which is my fault, but the server didn't think to mention it was not vegetarian. I didn't complain because it was my fault and I'm sure it's delicious, so we asked to have a box to take it home. The server didn't question why the burger hadn't been touched.
Overall, the food was delicious enough that we would try the place again. It was the best French onion soup I've ever had, but if the service is like that every time, I can understand why they were so slow for 10 am...
