Almost always I find my favorite treats at Flames Restaurant. The Gizzadas are great but not always in stock. My niece loves Rock biscuits and this is where I buy them for her. The food is very tasty however the curried goat sometimes have too many bones for my liking and to me, is a bit salty. Flames does not cook or offer any pork dishes for those who like pork. The oxtail is almost always very tender and the rice and pease is fresh. I don't typically buy the fish because it seems like it's too dry. You very the judge. And the soup...my favorite year round...is never ready at lunch time which makes no sense to me. Best to go at around 2 p.m. if you want to be sure that it's ready and then depending on the day, you may find your favorite from Cow Foot to Chicken and Mannish Water. In terms of vegetarian options, it's available. They offer cabbage, mixed vegetables, a variety of rices including yellow rice, veg patties, and more. I love the variety of porridges. There is one special offered each day. Slices of cakes are available along with bread pudding, drops, greater cake, and Shirly biscuits. The prices at Flames are average when compared to other Jamaican restaurants from Boston to Brockton. Customers take a little time to make up their minds but the staff is pleasant and will get you out fast. Flames is also open on Sundays and they have many locations so there is bound to...
Read moreNice place. The food is good. I need them to find better containers for large orders. I bought the large rice and peas with curried goat and the container leaked. The gravy was everywhere outside the box. Real mess by the time I got home a few minutes later.
I visited again a few days ago - March 24, 2025. I bought a fried chicken dinner and a bun/cheese sandwich. I was just leaving work. I was hungry and didn't want to have to go home and cook. Where I come - Jamaica, it is IMPOSSIBLE for anyone not to know how to prepare fried chicken, or any other type of chicken meal. FLAMES surprised me!. I don't know if it was the seasoning that they used or what. But that was the worst fried chicken I had ever tasted! Plus the chicken seemed to be overcooked (over fried or something). It was trashy. The bun was delicious. But for bun slices like that, more cheese was needed. The bun sandwich cost $6.50. How about charging an even $7.00 and add a bigger...
Read moreAs everyone knows times right now are hard. For me being VEGAN it's very much harder to eat out. This past Saturday I came to get food. I asked for a meat, rice & veggies but to please put the meat in a separate container/ plastic w.e. In order for them to do that I would have had to pay $27 just for the meat and $20 for the rice & veggies. That is CRAZY and totally insane. The plastic container alone is about .80 cents a piece at the most. Also just take a look at picture of there display case. God only knows how long that cake has been there for. I love Flames and have been eating from there since I have been little but I feel that they need to better in regards to...
