Homey, aged local breakfast and lunch restaurant. Ceilings and bathrooms need renovation, but otherwise it is cozy and clean. Tables and counter seating - no booths - so handicap access is reasonable. Carpeted floor mutes noise, so the sound level was comfortable, despite the restaurant being half full on a Sunday morning at 9:30am.
Service was quick, super friendly and attentive. Lots of check ins and offers of coffee refills.
I ordered the "chili skillet" (fresh chunky home fried potatoes topped with mild chili with meat, cheese and 2 eggs with toast). Something different that I've never seen at other restaurants. Served piping hot, perfectly runny yolks on my over easy eggs, lots of chili and melted cheese. YUM! Almost licked the skillet! And the price was as very reasonable, too.
I drove an extra town over just to visit Toast of the Town while driving through the area. Given it's good past reviews and interesting menu, I had to seek it out. I was not...
Read moreI got take out and presentation is rarely great so I will skip the pictures for now. The order I got was just ok. My friend liked her over medium eggs and sausage. The Uber Eats menu is frustrating. I couldn't order extra sides. My friend likes to have a pancake on the side of her eggs (weird, I know). I couldn't order it on the menu. I put it in on the special request section and it did not come in my food. The most disappointing thing was the French Toast with Apple. The Toast itself had little flavor. The apples looked like they were heated in a microwave and thrown on top. No cinnamon on the apples. They should have been done right which is in a pan, caramelized with cinnamon, sugar and butter. Real easy but total failure. In these difficult times if you are going to be in the food business you have to take it seriously and I just don't think they are yet. This was supposed to be my friends birthday breakfast and this just...
Read moreThis is a decent little "townie" place. They serve average food at a reasonable price. The first time I had a breakfast burrito, they call it a roll up and it was more than I could eat in one sitting. It comes with home fries that I was able to substitute out for baked beans. The second time I had a three egg omelette with sausage, peppers and onions and I think it was around $11. This came with toast and the home fries that I again swapped out for baked beans. The service is good and the atmosphere is whatever you make it. It's quiet enough so that you can have a nice conversation with people sitting at your table. I would absolutely go here again. If you found my review helpful, please give me a thumbs up and feel free to check out some of my other...
