Mexicali Cantina Grill — Restaurant in Randolph

Loud and crowded but no big deal. I've been here before so I expected amazing food, like last time. I was disappointed. The queso was chunky in all the wrong ways I'm not talking peppers or tomatoes it was giving cottage cheese. I mentioned it to the bar tender when they had time to acknowledge me ( meanwhile scraping chunky bits off my chips while waiting to order). She said that was today's queso, removed it and put in my order ( I later watched a couple sit down and order queso and there's was silky smooth....). My order came out well other than the steak in my dos amigos being super overcooked, not that anyone asked me a temperature preference. I once again waited to be acknowledged after awkward "start to talks", head nods, awkward eye contact and "excuse me"s eventually the bartender checked to see if I was okay ( after putting in receipt tips and checking the game of course) since I finished my drink and had yet to pay and I was able to order dessert. The cheesecake burrito was rich and delicious. I wonder if my server had offered me a newer batch of queso and didn't leave me neglected at the bar if this would have been a more enjoyable experience. I just paid cash and left. Unfortunately I went out for the experience of being waited on versus cooking at home and was left unsatisfied so I probably won't return. But the drinks were good/strong and the food that was prepared correctly...

I went in to the restaurant happy about taco Tuesday and drinks. The experience I had at the restaurant were negative and positive. I state for a 2$ taco you can not go wrong but when I went in with my partner we were not greeted with a warm welcome the waiter did not even look us in the eye and did not check up on us. I want to say the Atmosphere was a three because it was okay my Partner has issues with bright lights and the waiter acted like we were a bother by asking to dim the lights down a little. I am amazed how a place promotes taco Tuesday and you get meet with unpleasantness and make to seem a bother because it will not bring in tips so they thought when I tip generally . I would definitely not recommend this place if i had this service again it was unpleasant and not welcoming but I wanted to love this place based on the reviews I have seen about them but like I said to be meet with not even a warm greeting and my waiter had no idea what we were getting, I think honestly from the beginning of the experience when we wanted to dim the lights because they were in his eyes and what we had ordered he seen our Table as not making money but like I stated if your going to premote taco Tuesday and a welcoming experience please give your customers eye contact and be polite and check up on your table because I felt like like my server neglected our table and...

I was looking to go home to steak being made and wanted something to hold us over. My party suggested burritos so we stumbled on the Mexicali Cantina Grill. We were going to order takeout but was met by an incredible kind hearted GM named Tony who suggested a sit down to fully appreciate the M.C.G. experience. We were sat immediately and had outstanding customer service from the start to the finish. Our waitress Sarah was prompt, had a host of recommendations from size portion to mind blowing tastiness and we wasted no time diving right in. The food came quick, was so fresh and hot. You could taste every authentic flavor of the Mexican food experience and with the low-key Spanish music playing, art work and smiles from staff from ear to ear, the experience was unforgettable. If there was any issue with the food, the staff were attentive in your communications and handled the issue before you finished blinking. Even the bathrooms are kept very clean and hands free. It's hard to get a solid recommendation from me but GM Tony knew what quality establishment he was offering the public to experience when he suggested us to sit down and therefore receives a 5 out of 5 from me.
