Sasuke Sushi Steak House — Restaurant in Rapid City

We went there for dinner last night, as they are having their grand opening. We arrived at about 6:35 and ordered our dinner at about 6:50. My Tempura Shrimp Dinner arrived at the table at about 7:10. Being the Gentleman I am, I did not start to eat until Sabrina's food arrived at the table. I said something to the waiter as my food was starting to get cold. I told him he should serve the two people at the table together. He stated that they were waiting on her Chicken Terriyaki. Approximately 17 minutes after they brought my food they showed up with hers. I told him he should make some kind of an adjustment on the bill as we did choose to show up together and eat together. He did nothing, so I called the manager the next day and told her the story. She chose to do nothing as well !! If you are looking for a place to go out to dinner and enjoy your dinner with your company, I would not recommend this place. The dinners were $20.95 and $18.95. If you choose to spend this kind of money, you should at least be able to eat hot food with the people you go there with. GOOD LUCK if you choose...

The initial quality of this establishment has seemingly diminished since its opening. Recent observations suggest a significant turnover in staff, and the kitchen's performance may not be as consistent as it once was.

The service staff appears to be inexperienced, which impacts the overall dining experience.

Furthermore, the booth seating arrangement presents a design flaw, as the seats do not fully integrate with the tables, potentially affecting the comfort of the diners.

While the food quality is generally acceptable when prepared correctly, inconsistencies in steak temperature during my last two visits have deterred me from returning.

It is possible that improvements have been implemented since my last visit...

The best sushi I have had since moving from Northwest Arkansas (oddly enough, a national sushi Mecca) to South Dakota. Full stop.

The service was the most friendly I have encountered in a very long time. The waitstaff were positively delightful. The chefs were clean, stoic, and exceptionally skilled; they knew they were good and I love that! Top-grade atmosphere too; I’ve had 5-star sushi in far less aesthetically rich environments.

So, about the food. It was sublime. Exquisite. Gorgeously presented. The flavors were on-point and EXACTLY what I’m looking for when I go out for sushi. Delicious yum-yum salad and miso soup too. Mmmm…
