I gave a one star only because I had to. I called around 2pm asking when dinner starts, I was told 3pm, so I showed up at 4pm for fresh hot food, but all I found was, old hard chicken and other food from lunch, the WHOLE buffet. The sushi was shrunk and dry from being so old. I raised this issue and at around 4:15 was told they are putting dinner out now, however, kitchen staff was making small portions the size of a plate and pouring it on top of the old lunch food that had been out since the beginning of lunch, several hours ago. This is very dangerous, and I could not wrap my head around what they were doing. The server received a $3 tip as it was not his fault, and I had to pay $15.04 for food with the potential for a life/safety issue later. It is clear, this restaurant is stretching food ALL DAY LONG at the risk of the safety of their customers, essentially rolling the dice with our lives. Instead of spending money on television ads, the owner should focus on turning the place around. It's obvious this restaurant is failing, maybe Chef Gordon Ramsey should be called in for "Kitchen Nightmares." This place reminds me of episodes where Chef Ramsey says "Look at that!!!" "It's ROTTEN!!! It's not even a pepper anymore it's so rotten, you're gonna kill someone!!!"
Very disappointing and I will NEVER EVER spend another dime there,...
Read moreI was already skeptical because of the current rating (3.8) but after dining I definitely seen why. A few things: when we entered the restaurant the lady at the front had a phone to her ear, she looked at us, didn't say a word, grabbed silverware and started walking then looked back at us to follow. I thought that was unacceptable. Didn't greet us and acted too busy to address paying customers. Odd way to represent your business right off the bat. Next came the food. I always start with soup, they had a big selection I think about 6 options. I tried the egg drop, was far too salty. Next I tried the spicy shrimp, it was cold and old. Matter of fact everything looked as though it had been sitting for too long. Meats were dry. Sauces hardened. Tried a hot wing it was cold. Over all I was disgusted with the quality of food. I love Asian cuisine and this had to be the worst I have ever tried. And I dont make reviews often because I worked in restaurants for 15 years so when I make a review it is solely out of disappointment and hope that improvement will be made. The only item that was somewhat edible for me was the Greenbeans. So basically, 30+ dollars for two guest only to enjoy one buffet option. I won't be returning but I hope management considers revamping their...
Read moreMy husband and I were there on Saturday, February 9th, 2019. We have always enjoyed coming to Golden Fortune.....until this day. My husband was getting a salad and chose some cut cucumbers. He found a very large dead bug stuck to a cucumber slice. He laid it on the edge of the buffet on the back side near the kitchen. It took 25 minutes before someone removed it and took it to the kitchen. She nonchalantly picked it up with no look of surprise or embarrassment on her face.....which makes you think it happens quite often. She went to the kitchen and apparently made a comment to the waitress as she came out glancing at the salad buffet as she walked by and then telling another waiter about the incident. If there is one cockroach type of bug, there are many, and they obviously relieve themselves in the kitchen area. I would have even thought it would have been wise to remove all the cucumbers from the buffet, but they did not. My family and I will never go back....who knows what other dishes may have bugs. Sadly, it was a favorite...
