What a waste of time! We went there due to a it being listed on a gluten free app. I walked in and sat down there was 1 thing listed on the menu as gluten free and that was the spring roll. I asked the server if the poke bowl could be made gluten free, he stated no its marinated, so I asked what else on the menu was gluten free other than the spring rolls, he had no clue and only stated that you can't have this or that. Can't tell you if the food is any good, we left!
I attempted,to find a way to respond in line however I do not have the ability.
In response: I do not have any difficulty listening or understanding anything, once I realized that I didn't feel safe eating there I left, your server did not have enough knowledge or ability to articulate his knowledge. I recognize this, I don't want others to make the same mistake I did. You may not be affilated with any gluten free app, but you are listed on an app called find me gluten free, you can download and see for yourself. I have requested that your location be removed from the app due to your lack of items on the menu and server knowledge. And no, he did not try to explain this to me at all, I asked specifically if there was anything other than the spring rolls on the menu that is gluten free, as nothing else is marked. I am aware that fish is gluten free, I've been doing this long enough to know what is naturally gluten free and what isn't, however I have no way to know what is prepared without gluten if it is not listed on the menu as such, or if your server has no clue. All he stated to me was that I couldn't get the poke bowl or the tempura, which I accepted, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out that you can't unmarinate fish. If someone asks a question like what is available for x then it should be a simple answer of y. There are many things that could have tempura flakes on it, or the sauce that is on it contains gluten, peanuts, dairy, or other alergen items. Many restaurants have noted on their menu gluten free available, if an item can be made gluten free, if you are intersted in improving and being more inclusive as you stated...
Read moreThe food is mostly good. I've eaten there twice now:
The first time I had the Pork Bulgogi bowl, which was very good, so that's all I have to say about that.
The second time I had the Veggie Tempura bowl. I DO NOT RECOMMEND that.
In the Veggie Tempura bowl, they use just the same veggies that they have in the Shrimp and Veggie Tempura and they're not that satisfying to eat as a meal without the shrimp. I don't understand why they even have it as an option. It was too sweet for my taste (they use Teriyaki sauce, which is normally good with meat) and the fact that the veggies were fried like tempura does not really help their flavor, in my opinion.
If I were to make that dish better, I would stir fry the veggies and not make them tempura. I would add some dark green vegetables like broccoli, edamame, and/or spinach to the mix and top it off with some roasted peanuts as a garnish. I would also use bulgogi sauce, or if you insist on using teriyaki sauce, I'd add a dash of vinegar or lemon juice to make it less sweet. If they even removed the Veggie Tempura dish from the menu I would add a star because you shouldn't serve it the way it is.
The other disappointing thing was that I was eating there alone this last time, and the guest WiFi did not work at all, even though my phone said it had a good WiFi signal and was connected. Of course, this is not a problem if you bring a...
Read moreAlmost missed this gem! I’m so glad we didn’t. We had a wonderful dinner here with our little family. My husband and I are pretty close to sushi snobs and our bar is set pretty high but this place definitely satisfied our bellies!
We started with seaweed salad, miso soup, and sashimi sampler. We loved how the seaweed salad came atop of pickled daikon. It added well to the combination of flavors. The sashimi had great texture and tasted so fresh.
Then, our two boys received their kids sushi meal that came out in these adorable boats with festive umbrellas in their oranges! They devoured everything! It had all their favorites which we would normally order for them: California rolls, edamame, and sliced oranges.
For ourselves and oldest daughter, we ordered (2) sushi combo 1, Tako octopus, and a Rainbow roll. We also had hot sake because any time we eat raw fish we drink sake! You should too!
To finish off, we ordered all 3 flavors of mochi ice cream: strawberry, mango, and green tea. We all agreed on strawberry being the best...
