Mi Sazon Authentic Mexican Cuisine — Restaurant in Raritan Township

Authentic Oaxacan Mexican food! We’ve all had Mexican food but I guarantee you haven’t had this food. I was surprised to see a variety of dishes I normally don’t see on Mexican menus.

I had the tlayuda which is a sort of Mexican pizza/calzone and I can say it was easily one of the best Mexican dishes I’ve ever had. It has refried beans, cheese, lettuce, avocado and it’s topped with steak. It is to die for!!

I also tried the mole enchiladas which as you know mole takes days to make and there are 200 varieties. At Mi Sazon it is a bold punch of flavor and spice. You won’t be disappointed.

The pepino con limon drink is a cucumber lime sweet fresh juice that pairs well with any dish and not only tastes good but feels healthy.

The chicken tortilla soup was so elegant and delicate in flavor. I wanted more!

The mar y Tierra or surf and turf was epic!! The steak was grilled to perfection and the shrimp was char grilled.

I highly recommend this restaurant as one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever had! Oaxacan dishes are delicate and complex in flavor and the region of Oaxaca specializes in seafood for all the seafood lovers out there— there’s plenty of option...

Super satisfied with this place! Wanted to support local and try a new restaurant and they did not disappoint! Prices are a little steep but the portions are there. There’s nothing we ordered that we didn’t like! How often does that happen? This was a pickup order on a Saturday night too.

Guacamole is awesome and fresh. I would say you could split it between 4 people. Elote soup, creamy and delicious. Not spicy which is good because that’s what I was looking for. The chicken tortilla soup has a spice that gets you at the end! Very good though. The chicken gorditas were a great choice. I had never had them before and they were just delicious. The chicken quesadilla was just as flavorful! My Dad enjoyed the tacos dorados, and the nopal salad immensely! GREAT Burrito with fresh veggies, AMAZING chimichanga - Best one I ever had truly, and the service was wonderful!

The location is also very pleasant - enough parking and not the “hole in the wall” feeling.

Just a very pleasant experience with fresh ingredients and flavor!

Chipotle is good BUT MI Sazon is a DEFINITE better replacement - and the prices are very reasonable!!

Next time we’ll try dessert but I’m sure it will be good.
